Of all the arguments against the perpetual virginity of Mary this argument is perpetually ridicules. You would have to be extremely ignorant of the English language to even bring this up. I’m embarrassed for the OP .
As a person who studies English and Greek, I am completely puzzled by your comment, Gus. The ordinary meaning of “until” suggests a change afterward. There’s certainly nothing ridiculous about the argument.

Truth withstands inquiry, folks. Let’s not squelch inquiry.

Is this a debate on who is right and who is wrong? Being in a mode of exchanging ideas is preferable.
How does saying “Hallelujah!!!” determine who is right and who is wrong? It was just my way of agreeing strongly with the statement.

Please don’t let that bother you, because I truly did not mean to use it to offend anybody. It just means “praise the Lord”.

Alen certainly doesn’t come across like a person who is sincerely looking for answers; and the fact that he brought up the “Inquisition” in a place that’s completely out of context demonstrates his ulterior motive. This is usually an intimidation tactic that’s generally used to stifle the conversation and suppress freedom of speech.

If Alen is sincerely looking for answers, let’s wish him luck, and let him pray that the Holy Spirit may lead him in the right direction.
Actually, I also wanted the quote that was within this quote. That’s the one wherein I found the best answers to my questions (not entirely though). I believe I said “either way (meaning, ‘ever-virgin,’ or son of Jesus’ brother James, etc) is fine with me.” Easily-provoked Catholics in this forum, eh? What indignation! I’m not a ‘troll’ (I never heard the word used that way but I can infer its meaning by context). Also, when I said “those who brought the world the Inquisition,” I was not (honest!) intentionally baiting, but was thinking of the catholics who only think they are (or are using the faith for their own ends). I didn’t mean the Catholic church, because (believe it or not) I am a Catholic. I try to be anyway, but I see that, on this forum, one may not get away with a single carelessly-typed phrase! Anyone else who still doesn’t like me… sorry about that (or, too damned bad). As I said… either way is fine with me.

N.B. For the nitpickers: the above “…son of Jesus’ brother James…” should be “…mother of Jesus’ brother James…” OK? Good. -Alen

LOL! 😉

But, not too surprising, don’t you think? After all, “your mother wears Army boots” isn’t the sort of thing that you’d expect folks to take lying down, right? 😉
As I said… either way is fine with me.
Meh… I don’t know. “Either way”!!! Your mama wears army boots or not, right? Either it’s an insult or not, right? C’mon… ‘either way’ isn’t entirely realistic – or reasonable – don’t you think? 😉

Well… you might just be right, there! Heh, heh. Depends, you know?

Alen, you have no idea how ridiculously you come across in your posts. You come across like somebody who smoked a joint and/or had a bottle of scotch before starting to write. Please try to have cohesive thoughts when you write.

Very well. Of course, some of you don’t seem to realize how arrogant (like the Sanhedrin, or… members of the Inquisition, perhaps?) you all sound in your extreme righteousness. Therefore… I’ll be more circumspect in my thoughts, if you all ease off on the Arrogant brand scotch you all seem to imbibe, yourselves. “Learn from Me, for I am meek and humble of heart.” Right? Sure. Also, “I thank you, Father, that You have revealed kept these things from the learned, yet have revealed them to the humble.”

Such talk from a ‘trial member’ indeed! I do in fact feel like I’m on trial. But you ultra-learned ones ought to know better than to react like a startled bulldog at something a person types… you were all for the most part wrong about me and my ‘motives.’ Don’t bother responding (you probably will, though) with more blather, for I have learned (nearly) all that I hoped to; I shall be moving on to other less-volatile topics (& hopefully, more secure egos). OK, enuf said here.

We also happen to believe in “Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”

Alen, enough blabbering on your part. If you have anything fruitful to contribute to this debate, please enlighten us; otherwise, please exit without any further disturbances, because you’re truly derailing the conversation (could that be, by any chance, your aim?). I’m, personally, going to ignore any future posts by you. If you are truly interested in discussing the perpetual virginity of Mary, please respond to David Zampino in post #251. That would be a good place to start.

There I go again. I was remiss in failing to delete the above bolded word.

GNTLMNR, you don’t seem to be much of a gentleman, and also you react too much before reading, have a rather childish pettiness, let your anger get the better of you, and make all your learning good for merely writing a half-baked polemic. No, you blowhard, I won’t leave, and I’ll analyze your own nonsense whenever I come across it. Also, how dare you bring Mary into something that had no longer anything to do with Her. So screw you, fathead. Now, you can go crying and complaining about me to someone in authority, you overeducated, under-sanctified mama’s boy. Let’s see… what did I leave out? I can fill that in anytime I want.

Why are protestants so determined that the Mother of God had sexual intercourse? Even before I converted, I understood Mary’s perpetual virginity.
