Ah yes, MTV, a channel which has often been our greatest ally in matters of morality.

It’s sad, but I think its a predictable loss. Having pro-life ads would be great as it has a huge young/teenage audience, but it’s far too mainstream now.

By the way - this thread should be under news.

MTV may be misjudging its audience. Not all young people are pro-choice.

And I should be shocked, why, exactly?

:banghead:
Did the OP indicate or say you should be shocked?

The OP simply provided some information re: MTV and its ads. While no one at my house watches anything on MTV it will now be blocked and I will email MTV and let them know, as will my children. These venues–whether we like them or not exist and have influence and they do respond when veiwership is impacted as viewers drive ad revenue. It’s a small thing but they need to know that at least in my household MTV will not even be a channel option that is scanned past.

I think the poster’s point when they said they weren’t shocked was “How is this news worthy?”

I sighed when I read the article. I guess in the end, its all about money for those corrupted by greed.

MTV to Run Planned Parenthood Commercials, Bans Pro-Life Ads

New York, NY – The pro-life group seeking to run another commercial on MTV reaching out to young people on abortion is hitting back after LifeNews reported how the cable network decided against allowing Heroic Media to run its ad.

And people wonder why I turned off cable. I save myself $75 a month and the moral fiber of my kids at the same time.

Actually, many of my generation (I’m 19) are pro-life. Didn’t you hear about the March for Life this past January? There were like 40,0000 people there, and a pro-choice politician (can’t remember who) was shocked to see how they were all YOUNG.

Do not ask for whom the bell tolls. It tolls for Planned Parenthood.

Yes, I’ve been greatly encouraged by the numbers of young people involved in the pro-life cause. They are a lot less complacent about the issue than their elders. I think that old-line pro-choicers are very worried.

Remember folks; this is the station that broadcasts Jersey Shore, arguably the least entertaining show today. You can’t really say they’re good at making the right choices
