What I find here are passionate people of faith. What I also find here is much belittling of other’s faith journey…many well meaning people ask questions in such a way as to “damn” the querrant before they even have a chance to answer…questions like “Why do you call Jesus a liar by disagreeing with my church?”…or statement such as “your problem is with what God expects…take up your “protests” with Him”…such questions are much akin to 'When did you quit beating your wife?"
There is no answer to give…if one protests that one doesn’t beat his wife, they are left defending themselves against such attacks…yes…attacks they are.
We sometimes speak past one another…the smallest innocent phrase at times is jumped on with vengence and no mercy…others “misread” or “misunderstand” on purpose…they know very well what is being said…they choose to trade barbs which do not speak out of that Center of Truth and Love.
Instead of treating each other as beloved brothers and sisters…we sometimes come across with verbal violence…if we took to heart the words of Jesus to “love one another” or Paul’s counsel that “love is never rude…love is patient…love is kind…” we would understand one another more…
We are not as “serious” as we are “confrontational”…we are very unkind to one another…to me that is serious…our words are the only thing we have to “know” one another on this forum…our “words” should be written with the utmost care…as though we were writing to a loved sibling…instead of at times a hated enemy.
