Hi

Our friend dolphinlove has asked a good and valid question. I think, it is a new subject and would be off-topic here; so I start a new thread:

"Muhammad said there would be no ‘prophets’ after him?" dolphinlove says

Everybody is welcome to give (name removed by moderator)uts in this new thread.

I love Jesus and Mary as I do love Buddha and Krishna.

Thanks dolphinlove.

“Muhammad said there would be no ‘prophets’ after him?”

Where does Muhammad say this?

Muhammad is not the father of any male among you, but he is the messenger of God and the seal of the prophets; and God is aware of all things (33:40).

Hi

First; Muhammad never said that; anybody who thinks that it is mentioned in Quran, he should give a quotation from Quran.

But I would like to discuss here about Jesus’ concept of Second Coming from the Bible; perhaps that would be more understandable for the CatholicsProtestantJWs; as the question has been asked with reference to Second Coming.

Second Coming- Jesus interprets its true meaning

I understand that it was written in the scriptures that before arrival of Messiah or Moshiach, Prophet Elijah will descend from heavens.

I find mention of Elijah in the Christian OT with following reference:-

1 When the LORD was about to take Elijah up to heaven in a whirlwind, Elijah and Elisha were on their way from Gilgal. (2 Kings 2:2)

11 As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind. (2 Kings 2:11)

5 “See, I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day of the LORD comes. 6 He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse.” (Malachi 4:5 or in some versions 3:24”

The Jewish people had not been accepting any claimants of the office of Moshiach even from amongst their own people, and waiting for his success or otherwise for rejecting him instead of accepting and supporting the truthful claimant .They were just to ask the question; has Elijah descended from the heavens before your arrival?

This would have saved them from a continuous wait position at least. The Jewish People are not to judge the Moshiach; Moshiach is to judge them according to the tradition.

The Jewish people of the time of Jesus knew the importance of this question and asked it, and a reply was given by Jesus, that should be referred to.

The Jewish people, undoubtedly, were waiting for a Messiah to be a human being - without any overtone of deity or divinity - who will bring about certain changes in the world and fulfill certain criteria before he can be acknowledged as a ” Messiah” and the present day Christians put before the Jewish people a super natural deity or God which is not acceptable to the Jewish people alright.

Matthew 17:11

11 But he answering, said to them: Elias indeed shall come, and restore all things. 12 But I say to you, that Elias is already come, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they had a mind. So also the Son of man shall suffer from them. 13 Then the disciples understood, that he had spoken to them of John the Baptist.

Unqoute

I think it is very clear; Jesus interpreted by Second Coming of Elijah, a symbolic coming of someone who was morally and piritually like Elijah ie John the Bapitst.

So those who are waiting for **Second Coming of Jesus **should realize and accept interpretation of Jesus; which has now taken place in the form of the PromisedMessiah 1835-1908 .

Muhammad in fact never restricted **Second Coming **of Jesus-Issa-IbneMaryam; he always supported it.

I love Jesus and Mary as I do love Buddha and Krishna

Thanks

By what logic do you draw a parallele between Elijah/John and Jesus’ second return when the NT says:

This same Jesus which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into heaven.” Acts 1: 9 – 11.
They shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” Matthew 24: 30

Revelation 1:7 “Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him.”

Did your prophet came in the clouds of heaven?did every eye see him? i didn’t see him. Did you?

“In the third Vol. of Baraheen Ahmadiyya he (God) named me as Mariam. Then, as is evident from Baraheen… I was reared in the image of Mary for two years… Then I was filled with the soul of Christ and I became pregnant in a metaphorical sense. At last after a period of many months - I was delivered from Mary into the form of Christ… Hence in this way I became the Son of Mary.” (Kashti-Noh, pp. 46-47)

do you believe in all this?

Ahmadis and Bahais say there is a prophet after Muhammad.

It would be interesting to see Ahmadis and Bahais discuss who was the real prophet after Muhammad.

And it would also be interesting to see Sunni and Shia Muslims offer their opinions.

Muhammad never hindered Second Coming of Jesus; he supported it.

I give two authenticated Hadith from him in this connection.

~Yushaku man aasha minkum ianyulka eisabna maryama imamun mahduyyun , hakamun iadualun yakserus saleba wa yaktulul khinzera

One who would be alive (at that time), he would meet Issa (JesusYeshua) s/o Maryam (MaryMerium) in the position of ImamMahdi (DivineGuided), a truthful judge (among faiths/religions); he would break the Cross (with arguments) and kill the swine. (Masnad Ahmad 156/2)

~Abu Hurairah narrated from the Prophet Muhammad SAW that he said:
I swear by Him in whose hands rests my life or death that you would definitely witness advent of the Ibne Maryam (Son of Mary); a truthful judge (among faiths/religions), he would break the Cross (with arguments) and kill the swine and suspend the war (for religious conversion).
(Bukhari Kitabul Anbeya, Bab Nazul-e Essa Ibne Maryam)

I think that clarifies reasonably.

Thanks

Yes Paar, it is the Islamic claim. You were quoting the Bible, but the Bible doesn’t support your theory because unless Ahmad came in the clouds with Glory and everyone saw him, not just Pakistani, your theory has no legs to stand on, if you want to quote the Bible. Even quoting the hadith will not help in light of the NT, if you are trying to reconcile the hadith with the NT.

Muhammad never hindered Second Coming of Jesus; he supported it.
Both Ahmadis and Bahais say their respective leader is Jesus, this alone posses an impassible stumbling block for the Christian and mainstream Muslim because we do not believe a reincarnation of Jesus will return, but Jesus Himself!

Secondly, for the mainstream Muslims Jesus will return as a follower of the deen of Muhammad, he will not come ushering in new revelation.

For us, Christ is the Word of God made flesh, there can be no revelation that supersedes Him.

Hi
  1. There is no mention in the above verse of persons receiving Revelation from God for guidance of the mankind i.e. Messengers, not coming after Muhammad.
  2. I have quoted two authenticated Hadith from Muhammad for the advent of Jesus/Issa/IbneMaryam from the Sunni Sources. Muhammad clearly supports of Jesus Comming in his Ummah; not among the CatholicsProtestantsJWs or Jews.
Even Shias believe, naturally from their own sources of tradition, of Jesus Coming in Muhammad’s Ummah not among CatholicsProtestantsJWs.

There is no controversy among Shia and Sunni about Advent of Jesus in the Ummah of Muhammad.

Peace

Thanks

No, but they do reject the Ahmadi/Bahai understanding of this advent.
correct. I guess the Ahmadiyya are unique in their interpretations. Maybe Allah sent Ghulam ahmad to correct Islamic interpretations as he sent Muhammad to correct everyone before him. After all, why stop at Muhammad with all the corruption in the Islamic world.

Our friend dolphinlove has asked a good and valid question. …
**“Muhammad said there would be no ‘prophets’ after him?” **
not the Prophet , it’s the God Almighty who says so in His last holy book.

Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but (he is) the Messenger of Allah, and the Seal of the Prophets: and Allah has full knowledge of all things.
( chapter 33, verse 40)

Jesus (p) won’t come back as a new Prophet , he will be a follower of Muhammed (p) , will offer salat with Muslims at mosques.
I love Jesus and Mary as I do love Buddha and Krishna.
pl. explain.

Hindus believe Krishna was God in human form . How can a Muslim respect such an imaginary character as much as s/he is supposed to respect Mother Mary & Jesus (pbut) ?

yap , I answered : Jesus (p) won’t come back as a new Prophet , he will be a follower of Muhammed (p) , will offer salat with Muslims at mosques.

Hi

You mention :Jesus in the Quran.
Jesus in the Hadith.

So, Quran/Hadith comfirm Muhammad had no jealousy with Jesus. His Second Coming is not restricted by Quran or Hadith; those who think otherwise, they should come with a straight forward quotation in this connection.

Is there any verse or Hadith in which it is mentioned that his Second Coming won’t take place?

All this discussion is being done with reference to Second Coming, please note.

Regarding your story of conversion; kindly give a reply to my questions asked from you in my previous post in this regard. I am interested

No compulsion.

I love Jesus and Mary as I do love Buddha and Krishna.

Thanks

Paarsurrey says:
  1. All Christians, whatever the denomination, in my opinion, believe that Jesus died a cursed death on Cross.
  2. All Christians, whatever the denomination, in my opinion, believe that Jesus was raised from the dead.
  3. All Christians, whatever the denomination, in my opinion, believe that Jesus ascended to heavens and seated himself on the right hand of God; and assumed all powers from him.
  4. All Muslims, whatever the denomination, in my opinion, believe from Quran that Jesus did not die a cursed death on Cross.
  5. TraditionalMuslims believe from Hadith, in my opinion, that Jesus ascended to heavens from the Cross and his abode is on the first or second level of heavens, along with John the Baptist his cousin, and not beyond that.
  6. Muslims perceive that in his Second Coming he won’t be an Independent Messenger but would be in the Ummah of Muhammad.
  7. He will be a Caliph or Successor of Muhammad and hence follow Quran and the Acts or Sunnah of Muhammad. He will be a Muslim and not a Christian in faith.
  8. This is the Seal of Muhammad; through him and with him God has sealed the fate of all other nations of the world. Nobody can receive any Revelation or Word from God; unless he becomes a follower of Quran and Acts/Sunnah of Muhammad.
Muhammad supports and does not restrict Second Coming.

This is what **Second Coming **1835-1908 exactly is:

• He is from the Ummah of Muhammad.
• He is in the capacity of a follower Caliph Successor of Muhammad.
• He follows Quran and Acts/Sunnah of Muhammad.
• The Seal on Christians, Jews and others is intact; as Quran is intact- not changed and Sunnah of Muhammad is not changed.
• Second Coming has take place in Ummah of Muhammad; and Christians, if they don’t believe in it, would be waiting as the Jews who denied Jesus are still waiting. This is the Seal; their destiny has been sealed by God.

I think my CatholicsProtestantsJWs friends as well as Muslims understand it.

There is however no compulsion in religion; one may believe whatever one likes out of free will.

I love Jesus and Mary as I do love Buddha and Krishna.

Thanks
