Which is…?
you tell me. Do you read that people in the Bible had to ask other people who an indefinite man was? do you read that someone encountered an angel and later on someone told him it was an angel? angelic apparitions were clear to people who experienced them. Mohammad on the other hand sits with a man, but the man does not say or imply he is an angel and if it weren’t for muhammad’s claims, no one woud have thought it was an angel. Which goes like : how do we know it was Gabriel? and the answer is : Muhammad said so. Did he prove it? no, it was his word.
How do you know none of the Companions thought it was Gabriel? They just didn’t make goofy assumptions like some people on this forum do–nor did they ask unnecessary questions.
when Muhammad asked, its not that they thought it was an angel until Muhammad said so.
Why? Is that relevant somehow?
exactly…, because you said the way he was putting his hands on Muhammad’s thighs is a hint of “intimacy” to which i reply : where do you read in the Bible about angels being identified for putting their hands on prophets’ thighs?
I haven’t read about anyone other than Muhammad receiving the Qur’an–have you?
irrelevent and circular reasoning am afraid. Do you read that Bilical prophets used to have ringing bells in their ears and red faces while being inspired? as to your question, yes i read about people receiving the Quran before Muhammad : gnostics , and the authors of legends and apocrypha.
Guess they were sitting close together. Does that bother you?
no it was just that you said the nobody used to sit with his hands on muhammad’s thighs but we see someone was sitting with his leg behind his thigh which denotes intimacy.
