Which one is worse: to take away someone’s free will or to murder someone? I think the latter is worse because it takes away your humanness, the first one takes away the thing that perfects your humanity -reason.

Also, if they are both bad, then if you murder someone and that someone’s free-will is thereby cancelled (since his death is not his will), then wouldn’t that be 2 sins?

Also, if coercing the will is worse, then to kill people would still be worse than either of the two other options, since killing people is to take away the will and to murder.

Hi,

I do not think you can take someone’s free will away, in fact I know you cannot. Let me try to explain and I am using the below for an example. I am a bit too lazy to look up the dogmas and other stuff relating to this question tonght, hopefully someone else will fill in the doctrinal stuff 😃

If I held a gun to someone’s head and told them to rob the store or I would shoot them. They have two choices, to do what I told them to do or not to do it. They can will with all their mind not to rob the store but because of the threat to their life they may act against their will.

God does not interfere with our free will nor does he take it away. How can we as creatures who are infinetley less than God dare to do this? We cannot.

The devil wills with all his heart I am sure to destroy all of humankind. He wills our destruction. He is free to will it, yet however he is not allowed to carry out his will.

So you cannot cancel out another’s free will. When you murder someone, they are definetly willing not to be murdered, all you do is cause the temporary separation between soul and body. You do not change their will. Sry if I am repeating myself so much.

I believe that killing people is much worse than coercing them to do something against their will, so I can agree with ya on that.

Hope this helps and sry if it sounds too repetitative.
