Music - Our Lady of Guadalupe

Science now, has ways to record music from objects if anyone has ever seen that done. The Catholic radio station today played a recording of what they said was recorded “music” from the Tilma that has the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. I searched some on youtube and the internet but found nothing satisfactory except an extended documentary on a “sonogram” of OLG. I’m not sure that was it. I couldn’t watch the whole thing.

Does anyone know about this? Yes, it sounded heavenly.

I listened to the recording and I agree, the music was beautiful. Don’t know much about it, though.

The obvious, is I’d like to hear it again but I’m unsure where they got it to begin with. Thank you for your response and thanks to anyone else who responds.

There are recordings on Youtube of music that a scientist determined by mathematically analyzing the placement of stars, flowers etc on the Tilma. Is that what you heard?

The recordings are made with very New Agey sounding instrumentation, so I don’t much care for them. It might be a lovely tune if played on some other instruments.

I’m not sure what you mean, but it’s possible the sound could have been identified a number of different ways.

There are algorithms available which will convert any image to music. On the other hand, NASA has discovered ways of hearing and recording the sounds of outer space, which is pretty interesting considering there is no air in outer space to convey sound waves. Either type of sound is available on YouTube.

In the case of OLG, it seems like you would need to provide more info.

Someone might come along who knows about this. I just heard the short excerpt on air. Thanks for all of the replies.

I think I’ve seen them, say get music from a precious stone or something like that in the past. I have seen it done before.

You’re right, it is kind of cheesy… but… that’s because of the midi voices they assigned to the musical pattern…

What they did was patterned the stars as musical notes in terms of a musical score… The score itself is what they are calling the music…

The sound production could be better though… I’m sure someone will come along and put better instrumentation and production to it…

Whew! At the start of this thread, I thought the claim was that sound was actually emitted by the Tilma – which I tend to doubt.

Now, on the other hand, if someone has found a way to convert the image to sound, that’s always possible, but the music will depend on assumptions made in the interpretation of image features.

Actually, it is physically possible sound could be emitted by a piece of cloth, even high quality sound… but that is by engineering…

Yet, still, there are mystical sounds other Saints have communicated to us from the great beyond… I recall one Saint, not by name, who’s corpse sang at Vespers; another made “ticking” sounds to communicate from their reliquary box…

😮

Thank you for sharing this post, Victoria. 🙂

I was making light of it a bit, but I really do love ALL of this stuff so much… 🙂 so I hope it came across as just playful… 🙂

Mystic Post - Medjugorje – 16 Aug 18

Mystic Post

The notes of this blessed music were taken from the hem of the Mantle of Our Lady of Guadalupe
Yes, the video on that webpage is the music I am 95% certain.

I once heard a religious classical music piece by one of the Russian composers… I’m looking for it. Though it was created 150 years ago or so, it’s also amazing. I will post. It reminds me of this OLG music.

Tchaikovsky composed it, the USSR choir sang it (a bit ironic).
