Has anyone heard of a folk/country band from the 60’s called Ian & Sylvia? I came across them on a file-sharing site, and wow…just wow…and now, I want to hear everything they ever recorded. Are their Vanguard-era albums a good place to start? They’re very similar to early Dylan or Peter, Paul, or Mary but with a very generous of Christian-friendly songs thrown into the mix. Apparently, they’re a huge deal in Canada but don’t seem to be that well-known here in the U.S.

I’m almost 68 y/o now and still listen to them…You might want to also listen to Jim and Jean …They did a soul stirring rendition of Phil Och’s " The Crucifixion "

Very familiar with them from back in the day. They have an unaccompanied version of “Down by the Greenwood Side-ee-o” that will raise the hair on the back of your neck.

I’ve got their albums Early Morning Rain and Northern Journey. Both very enjoyable. I see they’re on Amazon.

I love “Four Strong Winds”. I think CBCRadio listeners picked it as the top Canadian song of all time.
