Right now we do, the congregation has been using it for several years before I was hired last year.

Well, here are the words to it:

I love how he has the organ get gradually louder on each verse, and then when verse three comes along, it’s like “WOW!” He knows how to set the mood. I got chills last year!

Our Choir sings this one often for Easter. It is one of our favorites, we sing it right before Mass on Easter Morning

Recessional Hymn: #742 Rejoice, the Lord Is King
 
2nd Sunday of Easter/ Divine Mercy Sunday - This week at Jolly ol’ St Nicks

Entrance: Jesus Christ is Risen Today
Offertory: Baptised in Water
Communion: Praise O Zion Voices Raising
Dismissal: Hymn of Joy

After Mass I will lead those who remain in singing the Chaplet of Divine Mercy

This is what I suggested to my parochial vicar since we will be without a choir (at least no rotten OCP music):

Entrance: Jesus Christ is Ris’n Today
Offertory: Alleluia, Sing to Jesus
Communion: O Sons and Daughters
Recessional: Alleluia, the Strife is O’er

O Sons and Daughters is actually the most appropriate hymn for today because it covers both the women at the tomb and the accountn of St. Thomas. This should be standard for all parishes on this day, in my opinion.

I am happy to be of health. Not only is this Divine Mercy Sunday, it is also completes the Octave of Easter and so the celebrant can add those last two Alleluias to the dismissal. It helps if he chants it. My parochial vicar does! 👍
 
I wonder what my music director decided to use for this weekend.

I’m thinking that the processional hymn will be the Easter verses to “Glory in the Cross” as it seems like he uses that every Divine Mercy Sunday. I think we will use “Ye Sons and Daughters” as well. Today’s Liturgy suggested “Blest Are They” for Communion.

Because we are in the Octave of Easter and have a plethora of Easter hymns to use, all I can ask is why? You have given me another reason why that publication should not be used in planning music. OCP almost always gets it wrong. :eek:

I typically use NPM Planning if I’m completely stuck and have absolutely no idea what to play. GIA Planner is another one I occasionally use. Looked at Today’s Liturgy one time, and couldn’t believe the suggestions that were in it…

I was looking through the Sundays of Easter, and their suggestions have very little Easter hymns. Go figure.
