Secular music shold not be used within the context of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. This is a big no-no. He can do a blessing for the mothers, though, and, after Mass, give each mother a carnation or some other gift from the parish. But, the secular music is not allowed.May 8/9, 2010

My assoc. pastor (who will be the celebrant this weekend) likes to do something for mothers, so he has all the men come up and sing “You Are So Beautiful” by Joe Cocker after the Post-communion prayer.
Oh, I forgot to mention April 17 I had the first Mass with the Youth Choir. They did greatThe next Mass for them will be combined with the Chancel Choir at the graduation Mass in June.
Also, why are you doing Come Holy Ghost so early? We have not even reached the Ascension yet. You could still use Easter hymns like Alleluia, the Strife is O’er, Now the Green Blade Rises, or At the Lamb’s High Feast.
