That’s a part of the world I really need to visit someday. I’ve been to London and the surrounding area, and have seen a bit of Ireland, but Scotland is high on my list.

So I didn’t get around to listening to Moonglow this weekend. I did listen to the first few songs on the way home today, this being among them:

As for my first impressions, clears throat: THIS IS SO AMAZING!!! HOW DOES TOBIAS KEEPING PUTTING OUT SUCH AWESOME ALBUMS!!! I’M CALLING IT NOW: ALBUM OF THE YEAR!!!

Uh, yeah, sorry for getting a bit carried away there. I like what I’ve heard so far…

Skip the first five minutes until the duet starts. The solo violin is very touching. Spoilers if you actually plan on seeing it or something.

Dream Theater’s new album released today! I listened to most of it on the commute home tonight, and it has been blowing me away, especially this song:

In general, I’ve loved what I’ve heard so far. I’m still going to have to listen to it a lot to get a fully opinion, but this is easily the most enjoyable they’ve been for me since A Dramatic Turn of Events. Overall, between this and Moonglow, it’s been a great couple weeks of new releases.
