Do anyone else live in a parish were you have a different priest every week or two? The parish I belong to is the consolidation of what had been 6 parishes 15 years ago. There are 7 worship sites (8 in the summer). We have 3 priests. 11 masses each weekend (5 on Saturday: 3 @ 4pm, 1 @ 5 pm, 1 @ 5:30 pm, 6 on Sunday: 7:30, 8:30, 9, 10 and 2 @ 10:30) I normally attend one of the 10:30 masses. We’ll have one of the priest of two weekends, then another priest for the next two weekend, and then then another for another two. So the priest that celebrated mass I attended this morning @ 10:30 and on Easter Sunday at 10:30 I won’t have again until the 7th Sunday of Easter and Pentecost.

I used to attend a Catholic campus ministry where the priest changed every week. Yes, every one week. 🤷

The OF cluster of 6 parishes that comprise our “group” has 3 priests (2 full time and one weekend priest) so we get a rotation every week. Each priest take two small parishes and celebrates Mass.

I still sort of include myself when I refer to the “cluster” but most times I drive to Seattle for the EF Mass.

We have two priests at my parish. They flip back and forth each week.

Our collage chapel is run by the Basilian Fathers, and currently there are 3 active priests here that alternate the masses (1 is the collage president, so he doesn’t usually do the daily masses though).

What parishes are those?

I think what you describe is pretty common. There are many priests who serve more than one parish or offer Mass in more than one location. My parish is large and we have several priests assigned here and also regularly have priests in residence or visitng priests. I can attend the same Mass time every Sunday and have a different priest – out of a rotating 3-5 priests – every week. What would be odd is to have a completely different priest every week or every few weeks and not have him be part of a rotating group of a few priests at that parish.

It must be said,
“Where two or more gather in my name, their I will be.”
We all have one Priest we connect with more than another. But, I had to realize after losing that Priest, he was not the reason for me going to Mass.

Our priest has 2 parishes, our tiny one and an ever so slightly bigger one about 30 miles south. I am going to say that there are no more than 100 families total. We have one Sat. mass at 5pm, one Sunday mass at 8:30 am and then one at the other Parish at 10:30 am.
I liked having different priests on different weekends back at my parish in Ohio, it kept things interesting! We were a very large parish with 2 full time priests, about 2500 families.
