Dude… C’mon. More people’s pleaze. Muslims? Catholics? Hello?..

Hello Mr. Zetterlund,

Well, I watched the videos. Of course, I think it is wonderful for people to convert and evangelize about Jesus. This I know is good and that Jesus is God.

However, I think the young man’s experience could be a psychological reaction from the weight of the guilt he was experiencing from having killed some ‘infidels’. The moment he said that he saw a robe and just grabbed on to it - I had a problem but, I finished watching the videos. As I continued to watch I saw a couple of other things that pose a problem. I would file it under a very possible psychological reaction.

Why, do I have a problem with the robe? Because, Jesus’s robe is like no other robe we have ever seen on this earth. He claimed that he did not even notice the color of the robe?!? This is not possible. Jesus’s robe is whiter than white - as of light. Whiter than any white and dazzling and captivating - it is magnificent. In scripture, you will find the word ‘dazzling’ and ‘white’ used to describe Jesus’s robe after the resurrection. In describing an apparition, a person may not stop to describe all the details but, will certainly not say that it was ‘just a robe’ and ‘I just wanted to hang on to it’.

The other major problem along with the other details, is that he went to the corner of the room feeling guilty and scared etc… etc…: this is false. In the actual presence of Our Lord Jesus the soul reacts differently. I would attribute his experience to his psychological state of mind, past and present.

What is it that he said Jesus said: I am Jesus Christ (the God Head ?)? I did not clearly understand what he said here.

Nonetheless, I wish him all the best.

Well, no offence; but I thin you’re completely wrong. 😃

He didn’t say he “didn’t know the color of the robe,” he said he was being choked out by a demon (which I hear in multiple demonic situations from several people) and a voice told him to call on the name of Jesus. He said he didn’t know why he did call on Jesus, but just did out of impulse. And he compared it to drowning, when someone tosses you a rope, you don’t pay attention to “the color of the ROPE” (not ROBE) “you just grab on.” He was comparing the situation to drowning. I hear people who suffer from “sleep paralasys,” which I am convinced is demonic presence call onthe name of Jesus, and the demons “or holusinations” flea the room.

He described the entity of Jesus as a pure white light, that doesn’t hurt your eyes. And as for the “being scared in the presence in the Lord” just read the Bible. Sin hides the Lord’s face from us. It creates fear of His presence. That’s the simily in the story of Adam and Eve when they “hid” from the Lord because they were naked. (i.e there sins were noticable.) I always hear from people how the Lord’s presence highlights your sins. The same when the Lord was transfigured, and Moses and Elijah came. His disciples were stricken with fear. And the guy who wrote Revelation (John?) was stricken with fear. I don’t think he said Jesus said “the God head.” And I don’t think this is any sort of “guilt trip.” Those guys will slaughter you thinking they’re doing good to benefit Allah’s kingdom. It was probably seen as an honor.

No offense taken. 😃 I do not accept the ‘testimony’ and you are free to accept it.

Oh, my mistake! 😛 I obviously had a little problem understanding him. Ooooh, he said ROPE and not ROBE. Yes, you are correct. I went back and watched the video. Okay, well that is clarified.

Yes. It is true that demons sometimes leave at the call of the name of Jesus. If a demon or Satan bothered me I would do certain prayers and call on the name of Jesus and if all I could do would be to utter one word - it would be: JESUS. I would just call his name, over and over, until I would die or the demons/s or Satan would go away.
He described the entity of Jesus as a pure white light, that doesn’t hurt your eyes. And as for the “being scared in the presence in the Lord” just read the Bible. Sin hides the Lord’s face from us. Those are some nice biblical references. I can’t argue with that. So, it is possible that a person may experience fear. Of course, just because this possible problem is eliminated does not necessarily mean that it is a true testimony.
I don’t think he said Jesus said “the God head.”
Well, what is he saying? He said that he heard a voice say: I am Jesus ________ fill in the blank if you please. I can’t figure out what he is saying.🤷
And I don’t think this is any sort of “guilt trip.” Those guys will slaughter you thinking they’re doing good to benefit Allah’s kingdom. It was probably seen as an honor.
You are correct. I misunderstood the part where he started to speak about the worst sin a Muslim can commit being to question Allah. I thought he questioned Allah before his second experience which would put him in a bind. However, just because a person kills another person under a situation that is socially or religiosly justified does not mean there is no psychological effects. Even when these acts are considered by the society or religion as honorable there can be some serious psychological effects. There are many veterans who have to live with flashbacks etc…

There is simply not enough information as far as I am concern to eliminate certain concerns in order to leave it as possibility - had I no objections… If indeed this is not an act and not done to gain a new identity (christian name etc…)and handle some political pressure, I would for instance, want to know what christian church he belongs to. If I invite a new person to my home, I make sure to give him the correct address. 🙂 Not long ago, there was a lady on EWTN who shared her conversion story which involved an apparition of Jesus. I had no problems with what she shared and found it inspiring. After her experience, she converted from Judaism to the Catholic Church and married and had two children. She said that her children consider themselves Jewish Catholics and as a family they have kept some Jewish traditions which compliments their christianity. But, a lot of information was given sufficient to answers the questions that naturally arise.

After your clarifications, I would say that my main concern is the TWO HOURS. We are speaking of the King of Kings with all his majesty. I do not think that Jesus is going to stand by for two hours while a young man sits in a fetal position lamenting his sins.

Again, you are of course free to accept the testimony but, I do not. Thank you for sharing the video nonetheless, it was interesting. 🙂

Hmmmm…:hmmm: You think maybe you don’t accept his testemony because he didn’t convert to CATHOLOSISM. 😛
Well, what is he saying? He said that he heard a voice say: I am Jesus ________ fill in the blank if you please. I can’t figure out what he is saying.🤷
Bah… I have to go back and watch it… 🤷

Well, yes. But in my opinion, this testemony really did sound along the lines of God’s presence and a typical demonic presence. Nothing at all like the symptoms I’ve heard about war veterans in documentories. I mean, Moses killed a guy right before he met God. Was HE dealing with bad psychological effects of that experience? Is he just out of a cool state-of-mind? This testamony just sounds too different from war shock. I had a grandfather-in-law who was a war vet who suffered from some sort of scitsifrinia (however u spell that) and it wasn’t anything like this. (He broke a dude’s neck with his fist.)

Why not? Look at what satan did to Job and how he suffered. God is omnipotant, He could have called off the bet anytime. Perhaps it’s because God is omnipotant that He allowed this. As he said, Jesus needed to use him to spread the gospel. What if he wasn’t driven bonkers enough by that demon and when the voice said “call on Jesus” he’d think it was a CHRISTIAN DEMON! -Lol. He would have certainly been more motivated to wipe our “obviously evil” religion off the map, one be-heading at a time. Jesus needed him to be desperate to not let him “question the color of the rope he was grabbing.”

Good afternoon Mr. Zetterlund. :tiphat:
Hmmmm…:hmmm: You think maybe you don’t accept his testemony because he didn’t convert to CATHOLOSISM. 😛
🎉

If a king invites me to his kingdom I expect that he will give me correct directions. I understand that others may not know or be mistaken about the location of his palace but, he would know.

I am sure that you will agree that we need to test the spirits and not accept claims at (prima facie) face value. I don’t have sufficient information about this person to leave his experience as a legitimate possibility. How about if a young man runs and believes everything on that video and even puts a poster of the man on his bedroom walls and is inspired by this person and twenty years later comes to learn that it was all a hoax or that the individual started his own christian sect and lead all the followers to commit mass suicide? I would want to know before hand who this person is and how he is living his life etc… As for me and my house :), I would want to know if he is contradicting in his real life Catholic teachings and if he is living a devout life. This information is not given, so how can one run to accept such claims? What criteria are you using that have made you conclude instantly that this is a legitimate claim and guarantees that this person will not theologically or physically do something contrary to the teachings of Jesus?

You wrote: 'C’mon people…" Why? Are we all seeking signs to confirm our faith? I do not need to hear a claim of an apparition to experience closeness to Our Lord Jesus. I can pray, go to Confession, receive the Eucharist, help the needy, etc… and I experience this closeness.
Well, yes. But in my opinion, this testemony really did sound along the lines of God’s presence and a typical demonic presence.
Exactly, you said it. 🙂 A TYPICAL demonic presence and apparition. People just need to devote a little time in the internet and conduct some research and easily quote John 14:6 and put up a show. I am careful as to not under estimate the intelligence of people. Why should I assume that he never heard of Jesus nor John 14:6? I am Catholic but I have read about other religions and am familiar with the names and claims of key figures of other religions.
Why not? Look at what satan did to Job and how he suffered.
I am sure you do not mean to compare the presence of Satan with the presence of Jesus.
As he said, Jesus needed to use him to spread the gospel.
Pardon? I do not understand that Jesus NEEDS him in order to get something done.
What if he wasn’t driven bonkers enough by that demon and when the voice said “call on Jesus” he’d think it was a CHRISTIAN DEMON! -Lol. He would have certainly been more motivated to wipe our “obviously evil” religion off the map, one be-heading at a time. Jesus does not NEED for this individual to be DESPERATE in order for this person to follow him. Jesus does not need to have a person in a position where this person will not question him. You see, Mr. Zetterlund, in the presence of Jesus the soul understands immediately that Jesus is the origin of his existence and that Jesus is God and that God is LOVE and WISDOM and is MERCIFUL. [The young man got this down right but, there are problems he did not forsee or investigated enough at least not for me to file it as a possible legitimate apparition. And, again there is lack of information about him and his life etc…]The soul recognizes that God loves him and that God knows him more than he knows himself. In this presence of the Kings of King and the Just Judge, and GOD, why would a soul indulge for TWO HOURS in darkness in the actual presence of GOD while GOD stands by? Mind you I am not a theologian but with my limited knowledge I have serious problems with this person’s claim.

May the Peace of Our Lord Jesus Christ be with you and May Our Blessed Mother Mary protect you and guide you to her son,

Abba

The arguments here becomes a matter of salvation.

I am a catholic but I truly believe that no one here on earth can judge who can be saved. It is only God who can save and the only One who was Flesh was also the God who forgave sinners no matter who they were. I believe He can appear to anyone and touch anyone He wishes.

The reason why I sticked with catholicism is because of my own understanding that it is better to follow what Jesus taught us to believe. I am happier this way being a catholic because I do not not have to defend myself if I am otherwise. The dogma of the Catholic Church is for me is the one established in order for us, including myself to follow in the Truth, The Way, and the Life in Jesus Christ.

Christianity is a brotherhood for Christ, which is to love one another because after all, all human beings are our brothers and sisters. For my protestant friends and other Christians as well, I love all of you. Hope you accept my view being a catholic. God is the only judge.

Hello rikkk1958,

This discussion is not about salvation nor a claim that God is not the only Judge. No one here is judging souls. Nothing I have written goes against my understanding that non-catholics can be saved.

I am not well read in Catholic writings and I am currently working on changing that and enjoying my journey very much. To say that, I have not read the complete CCC nor Vatican II and all the encyclicals etc… but I am working on it. However, I have noticed that there are Catholics who understood that only Catholics could be saved and that this changed in Vatican II.vatican.va/archive/hist_councils/ii_vatican_council/documents/vat-ii_const_19641121_lumen-gentium_en.html But, the truth of the matter is that this understanding has been from the beginning.

Pope Pius IX, Quanto conficiamur moerore, 10 Aug 1863:
  1. Here, too, our beloved sons and venerable brothers, it is again necessary to mention and censure a very grave error entrapping some Catholics who believe that it is possible to arrive at eternal salvation although living in error and alienated from the true faith and Catholic unity. Such belief is certainly opposed to Catholic teaching. There are, of course, those who are struggling with invincible ignorance about our most holy religion. Sincerely observing the natural law and its precepts inscribed by God on all hearts and ready to obey God, they live honest lives and are able to attain eternal life by the efficacious virtue of divine light and grace. Because God knows, searches and clearly understands the minds, hearts, thoughts, and nature of all, his supreme kindness and clemency do not permit anyone at all who is not guilty of deliberate sin to suffer eternal punishments.

Oh, excuse me, I have to go as there are people waiting for me to go on a trip to the mountains. I’ll be back…

But, we are discussing here if it is okay to accept the experience of someone based on the information given… my position is that there is not enough information and as a Catholic it is a concern to me to know if he was lead to the Catholic Church etc…

Well Abba, you’re entitled to your opinion I suppose. 🤷 In my opinion, I think I made a much better argument than you. 😛 I don’t think the Catholic Church is necessary for salvation, or for divine intervention. I believe the man because he was a hard-core Muslim who repented with tears, who still cries when thinking about his encounter, and remains completely consistant with every other divine intervention testamony I’ve ever heard. I’m not showing this to you as a confirmation of our faith, I just thought this would make you as happy as it did me. By the way, his testamony is just like Saul’s when he changed his name to Paul. So the fact that you’re placing more skepticism towards him is a little double-standardish.😦
Jesus probably didn’t “need” him, but we all know God uses us to fulfill His will. -God Bless. 👍

Abba, I truly believe in the way the Catholic Church stand for salvation because of the how Jesus established His Church. That is why His instructions are religiously met by our early fathers. We can always debate that this is true that salvation is for those who follows. This is why I always tell myself, why should I get out of catholicism when the we as catholics have to be proud because we are obedient to the teachings of Jesus Christ. I am proud that we are one, united in our belief because our early fathers laid it to us already.

Well Abba, you’re entitled to your opinion I suppose. 🤷 In my opinion, I think I made a much better argument than you. 😛
You are also entitled to your opinion. 😃
I don’t think the Catholic Church is necessary for salvation,
I am surprised that you are referring to the topic of salvation after it was introduced by
rikkk1958. There is currently an interesting thread on the topic you may wish to join it if the topic interests you. forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=423767&page=2 . However that is not what we have been discussing. You have questioned my criteria on deciding that I would not file the claims made on the video as a possibility since there is not sufficient information provided for me to evaluate it’s validity and as it is - anyhow - I would not file it as a possibility because of certain theological concerns. You think that it is fine and people should jump out of their skin and accept the claim but, many people evaluate claims very meticulously before accepting them even as ‘possibilities’.
…or for divine intervention. I believe the man because he was a hard-core Muslim who repented with tears, who still cries when thinking about his encounter,
Theatrics are not enough for me. 🙂 I do not follow the person, I follow God. A lot of people have converted to sects because of the charisma of some so-called ministers etc… This is sad. There are also people, including Catholics, who are mislead from the faith or to incorrect understandings of the faith by charismatic (and I am not using the word Charismatic) people within the Church. If we allow ourselves to be lead by people and nice words and emotions some will end up worshiping the sun and others the moon and even cows and who knows, I haven’t heard of this one but why not grasshoppers?
and remains completely consistant with every other divine intervention testamony I’ve ever heard.
Really?
By the way, his testamony is just like Saul’s when he changed his name to Paul. So the fact that you’re placing more skepticism towards him is a little double-standardish.😦
Let’s not compare apples with oranges and conclude that they are the same. Paul is an apostle of Christ and his story is in Holy Scripture. If the young man’s testimony was part of scripture I would not question it or place it in the condition that it needs to be evaluated. I am simply using my mind and thinking as we all should and the claim does not pass my criteria.

You may think that I may be too analytical and have harsh theological standards etc… but, there are people who have harsher ones and I respect that.

Peace,

Abba

P.s. 🙂

Notice and consider that he is not claiming a private/personal experience but a public experience. He claims that Jesus sent him basically to convert Muslims. That’s quite a claim. Are people to accept a public revelation just like that? One thing is for an individual as many have, me included, to have a private revelation and another is to have a public revelation and on it’s own merit and authority expect people to accept it.

The revelation of Saint Faustina (Divine Mercy), Saint Bernadette (Lourdes) and the children of Fatima were public revelations. As a Catholic, for me to accept public revelations they need to be accepted and confirmed by the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. I may accept a private revelation of someone on my own if it passess my standards as for instance the experience of the Jewish lady that I mentioned on an earlier post.

I watched, found his testimony very nice.
It seems great to me that he was doing wrong and now wants to do right.

I think the personal experience is his and not for us to judge lest we should place an obstetrical in his way.

I think even if it was his experience attributed to his psychological state of mind that it does not lessen the fruit that comes from it.

G-d will surely work in our lives from our experiences, who else would take the dark and bring light to it.

Visions for Christians would not be the same as they have been baptised.

I am surprised Christians in this thread have not been more upset by his explanation of son-ship. For me It did not fit really well with the trinity dogma as most have forced at me but it does seem to me to be a just explanation more understandable to Muslims.

No surprise to me that at CAF in this section it is not well received, my experience here is it is a place for condemning more than encouraging. That’s my personal reflection on who Yeshua (pbwh) is to some here as seen by their being in their profession.

Br MrZetterlund G-d bless you for posting this.
