You are contradicting what you said. First you said that you respect the beliefs of Islam. Then you say that you do not respect the violence. So in reality you do not respect a large protion of Islamic beliefs according the last part of the above post.
no iam not contradicting myself because not all Muslims are violent.
to imply it is not real. do you think that all Muslims are violent? or adhere to it? no. furthermore, i have nothing to say on this topic.

All Muslims support the violence that is mandated in the Qur’an, the Hadiths and Shari’ah law. If they do not, they are by definition apostates.

I do however agree that we must be supportive of those Muslims who are heretics against the violence that is very much a part of their religion.

They also believe that as a Christian and believe that Jesus is the son of God they also believe that you are a blasphemer. But hey, if you are ok with that, it’s your choice.

Let me add my point to this if I may? Whether or not we agree or disagree with Islam, the fact remains that even if we do not hold the same opinion as they do, we must respect what they believe.
What?
Respect what they believe? NEVER! For their belief was deemed anathema by a council, since they are essentially Gnostics.Their faith is a corruption of a corrupt form of Pseudo-Christianity.

Respect them as individuals? Sure.
As persons of strong faith? Sure.
As Christian Heretics? Absolutely.

BUT ISLAM, as a whole, is not just a religion, but a political movement, one bent of destroying all that isn’t Islam.

I’ve been threatened 3 times in the last 4 years by Muslims, two of those just for being visibly a Christian. Neither of these was due to any dialgue with the Muslim, merely that they saw my icon-crucifix UNDER my shirt.

(The third was for being a male teacher… and was a reminder that one is not to touch muslim children of the opposite gender in any way.)

In its decentralization, Islam is also not subject to “having its head cut off” unlike Catholocism or Zoroastrianism; Nor does it have a central authority to declare who is or is not truly muslim. We, the non-muslims, have been very fortunate until recently, in that Islam has been at its own throat, rather than agressively pursuing the West.

What they believe appears to be the work of Satan… so I can NEVER respect what they believe, only the strength of their faith in it.

What they believe appears to be the work of Satan… so I can NEVER respect what they believe, only the strength of their faith in it.
The teachings of Islam do not at all contradict the Ten Commandments and so Satan really did not do a good job of leading the creations astray by making them disobey what their Creator has commanded them to do.

And converting to evangelical Christianity? :ehh: Hardly needs ten months either! More like a simple prayer if I understand correctly.

Not liking Catholicism doesn’t mean you’re going to jump straight over to Islam - after all you haven’t, have you kujo? 😉
Actually, I’m not into religion (what you can do for God) but into relationship (what God has done for you!). I’ve never felt close to God in religion no matter how many masses I attended and repeated, nor rosaries I’ve repeated, nor times in a confession booth.
I took the “Roman’s Road” and got born again. Jesus said unless you’re born again, you’re not gonna see Heaven. I admitted that I was a sinner and that I can’t be right on my own. I believed that Jesus actually lived, died for me and my sins, and rose from the grave. I believe that through His resurrection, I can boldly go to the Throne of God, Himself.
I went to a Bible-believing church that teaches the Gospel and encourages me to live it.
In asking Jesus into my heart, it took a heart change that took a matter of minutes followed by a lifetime of work.
Sure, I had to learn the ways of the church that I attend, but most importantly, I was accepted as a citizen of Heaven right after my public confession.

Your denomination needs to work more on its public relations. As the article read, too many people turn to Islam because the RCC takes too long to get into though Heaven does not.

You poor soul. You are one of those Catholics who never bothered to explore the riches that the True Faith offers you. So you took the easy road. Pray the “Sinner’s Prayer”, Zip! Pop! Done deal. Easy salvation and cheap grace. That’s like trading a banquet for a baloney sandwich. So you have salvation in your pocket and no worries. It ain’t easy being Catholic. It means work and commitment. That is why the Church insists that every candidate is absolutely sure of what he/she is doing. Takes a long time? Anything valuable requires work. Too tough for you, I guess. Well, because there is no such thing as an ex-Catholic, the door is always open, in case you change your mind.

Hi
I am sorry for the bad treatment made by some so called Muslims, if they had been real Mulsims they would have treated you well. I really apologize.May GodAllahYHWH bless you !

It is always good to respect other human beings, and I think that the central authority of the Catholics also at least says it. Aren’t you a Christian or a Catholic? They say love generates love, so respect generaes respect.
May GodAllahYHWH bless you !
My Christians friends have a ‘central authority’ as you say, the result is some 3000plus Christian denominations. Please judge from the fruits, and never mind.
I respect your faith/denomination.

Sounds like you’ve bought into a quick fix for things spiritual.
Catholics accept the baptism of all other Christian denominations. So one is accepted from the moment they want through the door and ask to join. However, we believe that a person needs to know, really know, what they are signing up for before taking that final step… the sacraments of Confirmation and First Holy Communion.
Apparently we do not need to change anything…. There are 1.3 billion Catholics in the world. Another .5 billion Orthodox. The remaining .5 billion Christians belong to some 3000 other sects of Protestantism. Catholicism and Islam are the fastest growing religions in the world.
Looks to me like our PR is doing pretty good these days.

Hi
The Muslim who promote violence are against the meaning conveyed in the word “Muslim” meaning a peaceful person, they are degenrated from their religion, and that was a prophecy of Muhammad SAW which has been trul fullfilled as you are all a witness to it. The violence is aaginst the teachings of Islam, which have been lost by such people and that is why GodAllahYHWH has raised the PromisedMessiahImamMahdi for the whole world amongs the Mulsim, according to another Prophecy of Muhammad SAW, which has agains bee fullfilled if you could understand, and you are all a witness to it, if you please listen.
I respect your faith, no compulsion in religion.
Thanks

There is a level of respect that all people should show each other just because we are humans. But there is no obligation to disrespect those who are disrespectful back and who intend to harm us.
I learned to be very careful of Muslims as a child. I watched a group of Muslims kill about 60 Christian pilgrims in cold blood … they killed men, women and children… down to the babies who were on their way to church to pray. They were shot in the back trying to run away. This is only one of the horror I was put through by radical Muslims.
My Christians friends have a ‘central authority’ as you say, the result is some 3000plus Christian denominations. Please judge from the fruits, and never mind.

So you believe that if small protion of a relgion goes ists own way… the protestants are after all only about 30%-25% of Christians… that it proves that the religion is false?
Then I guess Islam has some problems too…. Here a short list of the ‘denominations’ or sects of islam…
here are a number of Islamic religious denominations, each of which has significant theological and legal differences from each other. The major branches are
The three major branches of Islam
Sunni, Shi’a and Sufi Islam.

Sunni - broken into four schools of thought (madhhabs) which interpret specific pieces of Islam, such as which foods are halal (permissible) differently. They are named after their founders Maliki, Shafi’I, Hanafi, and Hanbali

Shia Islam comprises most of the Muslims that are not counted among the Sunni. The Shia consist of one major school of thought known as the Jafaryia (referring to the founder) or the “Twelvers”, and a few minor schools of thought, as the “Seveners” or the “Fivers” referring to the number of infallible leaders they recognise after the death of Muhammad. The term Shia is usually taken to be synonymous with the Jafaryia/Twelvers.

While some consider the Islamic mysticism called Sufism to constitute a separate branch, most Sufis can easily be considered Sunni or Shia. Sufism is the hardest to understand by non-practitioners because on first sight it seems that sufis are either of Shiah or Sunni denomination, but it is true that some sects of Sufism can be categorised as both Sunni and Shiah whilst others are not from either denomination. The distinction here is because the schools of thought (madhhabs) are regarding “legal” aspects of Islam, the “dos” and “don’ts”, whereas Sufism deals more with perfecting the aspect of sincerity of faith, and fighting one’s own ego. Other people may call themselves Sufis who may be perceived as having left Islam (or never followed Islam). There are also some very large groups or sects of Sufism that are not easily categorised as either Sunni or Shiah, such as the Bektashi or those that can be categorised as both at the same time, eg the Brelvi.

According to Shaikh al-Akbar Mahmood Shaltoot, Head of the al-Azhar University, the Ja’fari school of thought, which is also known as “al-Shia al- Imamiyyah al-Ithna Ashariyyah” (I.e., The Twelver Imami Shi’ites) is a school of thought that is religiously correct to follow in worship as are other Sunni schools of thought.

Another denomination which dates back to the early days of Islam are the Kharijites. Members of this group in the present day are more commonly known as Ibadi Muslims. A large number of Ibadi Muslims today live in Oman.

Another more recent group are the Wahhabis, though some classify them as the ultra-conservative branch of the Hanbali school of Sunni Islam. Wahhabism is a movement founded by Muhammad ibn Abd al Wahhab in the 18th century in what is present-day Saudi Arabia. One thing which distinguishes Wahhabi teachings from Sunni teachings is that Wahhabis consider several things prohibited which the four schools of Sunni Islam consider permitted.

Religions based on Islam
The following groups call themselves Muslims, but are not considered Islamic by most Muslims:
  • The Ahmadi
  • The Ahmaddiya
  • The Druze
  • The Nation of Islam -
  • The Zikris
The following religions might be said to have evolved from Islam, but consider themselves independent religions with distinct laws and institution:
  • Babism
  • Bahá’í Faith
  • Sikhism
  • Yazidi

Are you saying that you reject parts of the Qur’an? Do you accept or reject the following Qur’anic passages?

*Qur’an 47:4 *“When you clash with the unbelieving Infidels in battle (fighting Jihad in Allah’s Cause), smite their necks until you overpower them, killing and wounding many of them. At length, when you have thoroughly subdued them, bind them firmly, making (them) captives. Thereafter either generosity or ransom (them based upon what benefits Islam) until the war lays down its burdens. Thus are you commanded by Allah to continue carrying out Jihad against the unbelieving infidels until they submit to Islam.”

*Qur’an 8:39 *“So fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief [non-Muslims]) and all submit to the religion of Allah alone (in the whole world).”

*Qur’an 8:65 *“O Prophet, urge the faithful to fight. If there are twenty among you with determination they will vanquish two hundred; if there are a hundred then they will slaughter a thousand unbelievers, for the infidels are a people devoid of understanding.”

*Qur’an 9:112 *The Believers fight in Allah’s Cause, they slay and are slain, kill and are killed.”

*Qur’an 9:123 *“Fight the unbelievers around you, and let them find harshness in you.”

*Qur’an 9:14 *“Fight them and Allah will punish them by your hands, lay them low, and cover them with shame. He will help you over them.”

*Qur’an 9:19 *“Do you make the giving of drink to pilgrims, or the maintenance of the Mosque, equal to those who fight in the Cause of Allah? They are not comparable in the sight of Allah. Those who believe, and left their homes, striving with might, fighting in Allah’s Cause with their goods and their lives, have the highest rank in the sight of Allah.”

*Qur’an 9:29 *“Fight those who do not believe until they all surrender, paying the protective tax in submission.”

*Qur’an 9:38 *“Believers, what is the matter with you, that when you are asked to go forth and fight in Allah’s Cause you cling to the earth? Do you prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter? Unless you go forth, He will afflict and punish you with a painful doom, and put others in your place.”

*Qur’an 9:5 *“Fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, harass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war.”

*Qur’an 9:88 *“The Messenger and those who believe with him, strive hard and fight with their wealth and lives in Allah’s Cause.”

It is always good to respect other human beings, and I think that the central authority of the Catholics also at least says it. Aren’t you a Christian or a Catholic? They say love generates love, so respect generaes respect.
Let’s see what the Qur’an says about Muslisms respecting Jews and Christians… really any other non-Muslim…

3:117 - "Believers, do not make friends with any but your own people."

5:51 - "Believers, take neither the Jews nor the Christians for your friends. They are friends with one another."

There is a lot more about how Christians and Jews are liars, untrust worthy, cursed. It even says that Allah turned them into pigs adn apes (speaking figuratively of couse) because they were so bad.

**Such respect :nope:
**

I have met few, if any, openly Muslim individuals who are not also radical and politically minded. I will grant that the Sufi tend to be more pacifistic.

Perhaps it is the radical mosques. Perhaps it is the strongly anti-Christian rhetoric in the Qu’ran.

Perhaps it is best summed up by a Muslim coworker of many years ago: “Peace is not the absence of War. Peace is the state of Submission to the Will of Allah. That point where you know your life is devoted to Allah and not false truths.” Last I heard, Ali was leaving to go kill Israelis for the PLO, back in 1988.

There are pacifists amongst the Muslims. But there is no way to chastise formally, save to declare them heretics and/or apostates…

Like a cancer or a plague, Islam spreads death wherever it is itself spread to, and splinters off, even to the point of killing its own: the Middle East, France, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Laos, the US, Spain, North Africa, the Balkans.

It can be seen by an outsider that Islam is prone to Extremism. Not because it is inherently a religion devoted to violence, but because it is a short step from “non-extremist” to “extremist” views. And both are suportable from the scripture of Islam.

The scriptures of Islam teach intolerance and isolation with regard to the other peoples of the book. Intolerance and isolation are a prescription for hatred and fear.

You poor soul. You are one of those Catholics who never bothered to explore the riches that the True Faith offers you. So you took the easy road. Pray the “Sinner’s Prayer”, Zip! Pop! Done deal. Easy salvation and cheap grace.
Please tell me of the “riches”!
Yes, Salvation is THAT easy! Look at the thief of the cross. No special ceremony. Jesus didn’t say “repeat after Me.”
Your denomination makes a ceremony out of everything.

Explain to me what Pentecost has done to your denomination. I have to say that “D” word because the True Faith is not in one denomination but rather in One Jesus Christ.

I have a theory that there are no sincere Muslims, including you, my friend. Terror and coercion keeps your fragile house of cards standing…for now.
I’m sorry, but I just couldn’t keep quiet at THAT exclamation

What is your basis for this “theory”? Prejudice, and blaming all muslims for 911?

That islam is wrong, and leads only to damnation is one thing we agree upon, but that’s where it ends!

Sounds like you’ve bought into a quick fix for things spiritual.

Actually, still looking at the thief of the cross, it IS a “quick fix”. Peter held up his hands and said “Lord! Help me!” and he got it!
Define, in your own words, “confirmation”.

The one frustrating thing about too many Muslims is that they “claim” that they don’t agree with terrorism only in private. You don’t see ANY public display of that from the Muslim community.
After 9/11, the news showed Muslims in their own countries dancing in the streets. How many Muslim groups in America did you hear about publicly condeming violence and acts of terrorism?

The silence is deafening.
