I’m sorry, but I just couldn’t keep quiet at THAT exclamation
What is your basis for this “theory”? Prejudice, and blaming all muslims for 911?
That islam is wrong, and leads only to damnation is one thing we agree upon, but that’s where it ends!
No, I don’t hold all Arabs or all Muslims responsible for 9/11. Many strive for ethical and moral goodness. But they do so in spite of Islam, not because of it. They are not sincere about following what the Qu’ran teaches. If they were, they’d be doing what bin Laden and his crowd do.
And the ones who DO follow the lead of OBL and his fellow travellers are motivated by fear and lies, not any innate impulse to do what the Qu’ran teaches as “holy” or “good” behavior (however much they might say otherwise). It takes years of soaking up propaganda in a madrass (or the local equivalent thereof) before these people are ready to go hijack planes or strap bombs to their bodies (or their kids’ bodies).
As BelFarFalla has pointed out, if you watch the interactions among Muslims even within this country (including the newly, impulsively-converted), even online, you see manifestations of the death-to-apostates treatment, even if only in the form of verbal harrassment/threats.
You see the revisionist view of history in its most highly articulated form in this country, too, every bit as brazen as the most dialectic-minded communist could manage—often funded by the tax dollars of Americans.
For all the above reasons, I think Islam has the softest core of support of any major religion.
I think BelFarFalla is right. It’s an edifice built out of fear AND LIES.
A great crisis (perhaps a world war) will eventually shake the moral people out of Islam, when the network of fear and intimidation, and propaganda can no longer contain them.
