Muslims and Jehovah's Witnesses - Why?

What’s with all the threads about Muslims and Jehovah’s Witnesses? Are they easy targets since they’re not Christians?
 
Well, it makes sense for Islam, since it’s the only other religion in the world with numbers comparable to Catholicism. Given it’s importance in world affairs right now, I’m surprised there’s not MORE discussion about it. As far as Jehovah’s Witnesses, it’s because many of their practices, such as the prohibition against blood transfusions, are seriously harmful.

I understand the need for focusing on Islam but there just seem to be no new topics, just old ones re-worded. :rolleyes:
 
And I’m pretty sure they’ll go on and on because many of us here have family members who are or were JWs, many were JWs, some are JWs…

them easy targets? as far as JWs are concerned on this forum–it is they who are targeting Catholics and we former JWs are responding with apologetics.

JWs will never leave the former ones alone, they haunt us.
In some cases they actually stalk us.

I do not know if Islam is a cult or not. But I know from personal experience that Jehovah’s Witnesses are a dangerous cult and there is no bigotry involved. You speak out of ignorance concerning JWs. Google ‘cult test’ and compare the points to JWs and they match every single point.

Why is Protestantism so big in the States? If somebody asks them about God and the concept of the Trinity, aren’t they reliant upon the Churches teaching? At least it seems a lot of Americans talk about God in their daily lives eg work, school. Where I live it is more atheist. anyway…the above question.

Jehovah’s Witnesses are persecuted because Jesus said 'If they persecute me, they will persecute you also. And they ARE Christians, praying to Jehovah THROUGH Jesus Christ. Many take issue with the preaching door-to-door, although that too is the pattern that was established by Jesus Christ himself, and followed by the apostles. Doesn’t it make sense that if Jesus established a WAY of worship, that Christians should still be patterened that way today? I’m thinking so. They may be irritating to many, but Jesus was too. Doesn’t mean he wasn’t right though, does it

Yes it does. So why don’t JWs worship in the same way that the early Christians worshipped as described below?
Chapter 67 of The First Apology by Justin Martyr
“Weekly worship of the Christians.”
“And on the day called Sunday, all who live in cities or in the country gather together to one place, and the memoirs of the apostles or the writings of the prophets are read, as long as time permits; then, when the reader has ceased, the president verbally instructs, and exhorts to the imitation of these good things. Then we all rise together and pray, and, as we before said, when our prayer is ended, bread and wine and water are brought, and the president in like manner offers prayers and thanksgivings, according to his ability, and the people assent, saying Amen; and there is a distribution to each, and a participation of that over which thanks have been given, and to those who are absent a portion is sent by the deacons.
