I am not here to defend Islam or Muslims or provide justification to any group or individual. I am here simply representing the organization WhyIslam. I am a Muslim and a member of WhyIslam.
I request you to quote me entirely if you intend to quote any part of what I say.
Does Islam prescribe the capital punishment for those Muslims who convert to another religion? The answer is Yes. Remember that in Islam, Islam is the state. Islam is the millitary, the homeland security, the intelligence, the judiciary, the executive, the everything. This is how Islam is meant to be. It is not a mode of worship alone. So a conversion is considered treason against the state. And treason invites capital punishment in every country of the world including the USA.
Since we do not have a true Islamic state today and no individual can execute capital punishment in Islam, Muslims who convert should never face capital punishment. If they do then that is wrong and is an abuse of Islamic law for politial and other agendas. These stories are for media consumption and have no place in Islam.
I can tell you hundereds of Americans embrace Islam through WhyIslam and a small percentage do go back to their religion. Happens in all religions. No one chases them. One fact for you: Two thirds of all conversions to Islam by Americans are by women.
