Is it true that all Muslims think our Trinity is the Father, Mary, and the Son,I"m talking of all Christians believe in the Trinity

1. The Trinity

In Christianity, God is the Trinity. God has three Persons in Him. The three Persons are the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Catechism #253-256)

According to Islam, Christians worship God as a third of three. The three gods are God, Jesus, and Jesus’ mother (Qu’ran 5:72-75, 116)

No that’s not the case. It might be the case with some Muslims who don’t know much about Christianity, but in the same way there are some Christians who believe that Muslims are Pagans.

In the 13th century, Ibn Taymiyyah wrote a detailed refuation of Christianity. Nowhere did he misunderstand the Trinity to include Mary.

You can read his book below and see that he actually knew about Christianity and its teachings.

Well, Muhammed thought so, although later muslim scholars has tried their best covering up that inconveniant truth…
(koran 4:171)

Another part of the koran which obviously shows its “Muhammedanian” (and not divine) origins: Koran 5:73.
God could not have made that mistake. Some unlearned Arab merchant, however, could , certainly.

Nowhere in Qur’an does it state that Christians believe the Trinity is God, Jesus, and Mary.

**The verse in Surah 5 that is often quoted is misinterpreted. It’s not talking about the Trinity. ** Rather, it’s talking about Jesus and Mary being objects of worship.

No offense, but many Protestants believe that Catholics worship Mary. So the Qur’an is simply condemning the worship given to Jesus (which all Christians do) and the worship given to Mary which Catholics call “reverence” and “honor” and Protestants call worship.

So I think you have to admit the Muslim position is reasonable given that the fact that so many Christians would agree with the Qur’an in this aspect.

It is reasonable, within reason, for what it is.

What it is is the view of an uneducated ‘‘outsider’’ unqualified to make such pronouncements.

You mean , why we write peace be upon her/ him ? Normally Muslims utter/write some respectful words when we say name of any Prophet / repsected religious figures.

Anyway , making statue of Mother Mary (pbuh) , bow down in front of her idol , pray to her …these are considered as shirk/ associate partner with God Almighty. This is the most major sin in Islam & if die without repentance , only punishment is eternal fire.

It’s not true, because I’m a Muslim and I know better.

If any Muslim does think that the Trinity is father+mary+son, then he/she is incorrect. It’s that simple.

The verse referenced does NOT say that the Trinity includes Mary. Common misconception.

Some unleaned LutheranDK did make that mistake.

The ayah does not say Mary is part of the Trinity. Period.

More likely it is the Quran that does not know much about Christianity. I’ve been following Muslims argument on this and so far have not between convinced it is like what you say.

I would suggest clarification on the Quran by Muslim scholars started even earlier, perhaps as early as 10th century on basic misconception of Christianity. This include the corruption of the Bible, the People of the Book were not Jews and Christians only and the Christian’s Trinity which you mentioned.

I have not seen any evidence that Mohammad, the Quran or the sahaba had this (your) understanding. Thus in the absence of such understanding I still conclude that the explanation by Muslims on these were after they discovered that Christianity did not actually believe what the Quran purported it to be.

It would be reasonable from the view of an Arabic merchant, whose contact with and insight into Christianity was rather limited.
It would NOT be reasonable to assume that God had such misconceptions, which must be the case if the koran is to be seen as the Word of God.

Thereby proving the human, not divine, origins of the koran.

should help clarify this verse

"Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. "

The above prayer is an example that violates the Islamic concept of absolute monotheism or tawhid and thus is shirk.
How is asking someone to pray for you a violation of monotheism?

Quite pathetic.

The quran was conjured in the 7th century. Christianity belief of the Trinity was already stabilized at this time. Nobody was talking about Mary being part of the Trinity nor she was the object fo worship.

Sorry but Protestantism had not existed yet at that time. The verse in the surah 5 was an error that was wrongly accorded to a Christian belief. Error that still persist today for ordinary Muslims.
