The commentary in my copy of the Qur’an by Abdullah Yosuf Ali claims that Mary is worshipped by Catholics. Mary is honoured, not worshipped. It also says:
“She never claimed that she was the mother of God or that her son was God.”
Elizabeth asks Mary in Luke 1:43, " ‘And why has this happened to me, that the mother of my Lord comes to me?’"
‘Lord’ is interchangeable with ‘God’. Saint Thomas, putting a finger in Jesus’ side, exclaims, “My Lord and my God!”
Surah 19:16-19 : One angel appeared to Mary
Surah 3:42 - 45: “The angels”
Surah 22:47 - “Verily a Day in the sight of thy Lord is like a thousand years of your reckoning.”
Surah 70:4 - “The angels and the Spirit ascend unto Him in a Day
The measure whereof is (as) fifty thousand years:”
Christians are said to be rewarded in Surah 5:69, but three verses later, it says we will be damned.
How long did Allah take to create the world? Six days (Qur’an 7: 54), two days (Qur’an 41: 9), four days (Qur’an 41: 10), or two days and a bit (Qur’an 41: 12)?
Could you please explain to me how you view these internal contradictions?
