Muslims: Is not attending Friday Prayers an unforgivable sin in Islam?

I have been told that Non attendence of Friday Prayer is an unforgivable offence which is not forgiven even if the person does Hajj.

Could some muslim shed light on this? and why is it not forgiven, and does it mean thosee who dont attend friday prayers will be in hell?

I worked with a couple of Muslims, both strict ahderants to their faiths. I asked them about how they fit the five times prayer a day if they do shift work, and their weekly Mosque sessions. They simply said they made it up when they could, and when they did shift work, they said their prayers outside of their shifts, but still fitted in the 5 prayers required each day. No mention of it being unforgivable to miss Friday prayer.

Of course they were a doctor and and a nurse, so maybe there are exceptions.

That is not true.

However, if someone performs Hajj he will return sinless as the day he/she was born.

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 2, Book 26, Number 596:
The Prophet (p.b.u.h) said, “Whoever performs Hajj for Allah’s pleasure and does not have sexual relations with his wife, and does not do evil or sins then he will return (after Hajj free from all sins) as if he were born anew.”

everything is forgivable as long as you repent and do rightious in your life ( before your death )

but after the death , everything is forgivable ( not , forgiven ) except one thing , deny God or share others with him in your worship

attending prayer is very important in islam , leaving it is a big sin , but if you repented before your death thennGod will forgive you
but what about the situation if muslim died with insist to ignore it ? his fate will be in the hand of God , but according to our beliefs he will be punished for his disobeying

performing of Haj will guarantee the forgivness if it was accepted by God , but not the big sins as killing for example
anyway , to perform a hajj is a step which refer to repentance , but what if you return to your sin again after performing hajj ?
well , performing hajj dosn’t mean you are now can do whatever of sins you like

finally , every thing in islam uder accountable , and everything is forgivable if we repented . and after death God will not forgive someone who deid while he dnying him or share others with him in worship

Nobody should skip the friday prayers!..

He said that 'Aisha had said, "I used to wash it off the clothes of Allah’s Apostle and he would go for the prayers while water spots were still visible on them. **

According to the islamic hadith-bukhari we see that even if muhammad didn’t have time to dry semen moisture off his clothes after his quickies, he still went to meet allah.

I agree this comment was very offensive to me as a Catholic who has a good friend who is a devout Muslim.
But to answer the original question. For Muslim men Friday prayer in the mosque is just as much an obligation for them as Mass is for us Catholics. Friday prayers are a requirement for Muslim men and they are optional for women. A Muslim man must have a legitimate excuse for missing prayers at the mosque. Just as a Catholic must have a valid excuse for missing Mass. If a man have a valid excuse for missing Friday prayers at the mosque there is a way to make up for that by doing the prayers elsewhere like at home for example. But if a man does not have a valid excuse then he commits a serious sin just like a Catholic does when they intentionally miss Mass without a valid excuse.
