As a former member of Jemaah Islamiya, a group led by al Qaeda’s second in command, Ayman al-Zawahiri, I know firsthand that the inhumane teaching in Islamist ideology can transform a young, benevolent mind into that of a terrorist. Without confronting the ideological roots of radical Islam it will be impossible to combat it. While there are many ideological “rootlets” of Islamism, the main tap root has a name–Salafism, or Salafi Islam, a violent, ultra-conservative version of the religion.

It is vital to grasp that traditional and even mainstream Islamic teaching accepts and promotes violence. Shariah, for example, allows apostates to be killed, permits beating women to discipline them, seeks to subjugate non-Muslims to Islam as dhimmis and justifies declaring war to do so. It exhorts good Muslims to exterminate the Jews before the “end of days.” The near deafening silence of the Muslim majority against these barbaric practices is evidence enough that there is something fundamentally wrong.

Is he telling the truth about what? Do you think I’m part of al Qaeda now or something?
 
No.

Regarding the penalty for apostasy, it is the same almost anywhere in the world, under a different name–treason law. The punishment is for treason, not actual “apostasy” in the modern sense.

Regarding the beating of women for discipline, the husband is not allowed to leave even a mark on his wife (i.e., a bruise or a cut, even.) So it’s not really “beating” and anything more violent is not allowed.

Regarding the subjugation of non-Muslims, if they live in a Muslim society then they are supposed to be able to erect their own houses of worship and establish their own court systems. So it’s not really subjugation, is it?

Regarding the justification of war, Muslims absolutely are allowed to go to war to protect human life, and human rights.

Regarding exterminating the Jews–that is completely and totally bogus. I’ve never even heard that before.

Regarding the so-called “silence” of the “Muslim majority.” Whatever. In my opinion, someone is hearing impaired who declares that Muslims are silent. How can they scream any louder?
 
I would be happy to just hear a wimper from you about Hamas. Bet you can not do it!

So then can you state here that you condemn that Charter of Hamas and their goals?

Salafi Islam means the ancestors Islam, the way previous real Muslims used to live in early Muhammed days and his Caliphs.

Muhammed and his Caliphs spread Islam through violence and wars, so does that mean they were wrong…

If it means End Time / before the Last day / Judgment Day , then yes , we do believe that Jesus (p) will come & kill the anti Christ & his followers. Jews will be supporter of anti Christ & Jesus (p) will defeat them by the will & power of God Almighty.
 
The problem with Islamic teachings is that it is so peaceful that billions see the opposite.
