First of all, it doesnât really signify anything to Islam. It doesnât mean that the Pope converted, or that he canonized the Qurâan. For sure, Muslims do not need the approval of another faith for their scriptureâand in fact it would actually insult the nobility of the Qurâan if it were âcanonizedâ as Christian scripture. It certainly doesnât suggest to Muslims at all that Christians either accept the Qurâan as truth or scripture for them.
It was simply a very nice gesture to demonstrate to Catholics and to Muslims a kind of tolerance. You might not know this, but Muslims in general treat the Bible with respect just like they do with the Qurâan. In fact, it is even strange to me since I donât even see the Bible that way, but for exampleâthey would put the Bible on the highest shelf, and would not put anything (except for another Bible or a Qurâan) on top of it. They wouldnât put it under their chair, take it in to the bathroom, or anything like that. Even though they donât consider it the same way they do the Qurâan, they still respect it.
And Muslims often do kiss the Qurâan just as an etiquette for them. I donât do it personally but I do try to handle my mushaf (Arabic Qurâan) with care. I try more to respect it by following the teachings inside it. So I think the Pope kissing it is just a nice gesture, and nothing more.
Did he get Paradise for doing that? Iâm not sure why anyone would ever suggest that, there is no teaching in Islam that just kissing the Qurâan forgives sins or anything like that⌠but surely, God Almighty only knows who will enter the Garden, and who will enter the Fire.

Respect. It means respect of anotherâs holy book. Because it is dear to them, good manner would dictate you to show respect, especially if you were a guest to the personâs house. Pope John Paul 2 did not commit sin for that nor he would go to hell for that. In fact I respect him for that for showing respect to others eventhough he may not agree with them.
Different cultures show respect in different ways. Some bow, some kiss; it doesnât matter. We do kiss the Bible. The priests kiss the Bible. It does not mean we worship it; only in this case we believe in it.
Do not read too much in Pope John Paul 2 kissing that Quran other than just a respect for his hosts. Maybe Muslims would not kiss the Bible had they be in Pope John Paul 2 situation. But then again, itâs just a difference in culture. No problem. I am sure Muslim leaders would do the same - showing respect in their own way and withim the limit of their decorum. It was heartwarming to see those Muslim leaders attending the funeral mass of the late Pope.

The Pope above is a Christian. He just kissed the Quran out of trying to be friendly. Muslims understand that . We respect him for doing so , and actually he was a respected person in the Islamic world and by islamic scholars for his outreach in General.
He is a Christian and he never advocated Islam , not that we Muslims care .

Islam teaches that believers and unbelievers will have different fates that await them in the Hereafter⌠and so, if anyone does not believe in the Truth of Islam, then is there any reason at all why they would want to know the rewards that is promised for the believers in Paradise?
Anyhow, here is a desription of what awaits the believers in Paradise.
The Qurâan and Sunnah are full of references to Paradise and the great reward that is in store for those who believe and do righteousness in this life. The reward for goodness is eternal goodness, and the reward for evil is torment and despair.
Rewards for males and females, although different according to their inherent nature that Allah has created them with, are equally gratifying. No one will feel any resentment towards others, nor envy. Peace is the state in which all will exist forever, regardless of any differences they may have had in this life.
The Qurâan says what means:
{If any do deeds of righteousnessâbe they male or femaleâand have faith, they will enter Heaven, and not the least injustice will be done to them.} (An-Nisaaâ 4:124)
They will wear the finest clothing and live in the best of surroundings. It was narrated by Imam Muslim that Abu Bakr ibn `Abdullah ibn Qais reported on the authority of his father that Allahâs Messenger (may peace be upon him) said that in Paradise there would be for a believer a tent of a single hollowed pearl the breadth of which would be sixty miles. It would be meant for a believer, and the believers would go around it and none would be able to see the others.
In the same regards, Allah says in His glorious Book what means:
{Allah will admit those who believe and work righteous deeds, to Gardens beneath which rivers flow: they shall be adorned therein with bracelets of gold and pearls; and their garments there will be of silk.} ⌠(Al-Hajj 22:23)
He also says what means:
{[Other] faces that Day will be joyful, pleased with their striving, in a Garden on high, where they shall hear no [word] of vanity: Therein will be a bubbling spring: Therein will be thrones [of dignity], raised on high, goblets placed [ready], and cushions set in rows, and rich carpets [all] spread out.} ⌠(Al-Ghashiyah 88:8-16)
Trees bearing fruits of all kinds, and of types we have not seen or imagined, will be there for those who strived to do their best in this life. The trees will bend their branches down for believers to reach them! All we need to do is to long for a particular one. Rivers of wine that does not intoxicate, rivers of honey, the purest of waters, and milk are all waiting for believers to enjoy.
Eternal youth will be the state of existence for those who inhabit Paradise. The food of Paradise is so pure that their bodies will not produce any wastes, only sweat whose fragrance is musk.
But just as the best things in this life do not come easy, neither does the reward of Paradise come cheap. It does requires great effort to live a righteous life in Islam and invite others to it as well. Believers must struggle with their utmost effort to achieve excellence in everything they do and in every relationship they have so that they can achieve the utmost in rewards i.e. Paradise.
The Qurâan says what means:
{Be quick in the race for forgiveness from your Lord, and for a Garden whose width is that [of the whole] of the heavens and of the earth, prepared for the righteous.} ⌠(Aal `Imran 3:133)
The Prophet (peace be upon him) clearly stated in his description of Paradise that in it there is âwhat an eye has not seen, what en ear has not heard and what has not crossed the heart of a human.â All the physical descriptions of Paradise mentioned in the Qurâan and Sunnah are merely but examples of what Allah has promised His righteous believers. Yet, the ability of Allah to create and prepare for them is much more. He has created all the beauty in existence out of nothing, simply by His own will.
This hadith of the Prophet (pbuh) really explains that these physical promises are just a small simple part of what God can provide those whom He elevates to enter His Paradise. What is available in Paradise is beyond our imagination; we need to remember that God is capable of creating what is beyond our imagination.
Also, the hadith states that there will be what not had crossed the âheartâ of humans. It does not say the âmindâ, but the âheartâ. The heart longs more and dreams more than the logical mind. The mind might have limits in its dreams. It is limited by logic and by what is âpossibleâ. As for the heart, it only longs and dreams of what it wants and loves, whether it is logical or not.
What can explain this more is a verse which says what means:
{They shall have what they will of their Lordâs bounty. That is the reward of the good-doers.} ⌠(Az-Zumar 39:34)
The situation there is completely different. Here we get what we strive for. But there, we get what we will. So, we simply need to will. A person might will to eat a piece of fruit, while another might will to meet with God!
However, the most important promise of all in Paradise is â encountering our Creator!
It would be such a loss to come to this life not knowing Who brought one here. It would be an even greater loss never to encounter Him. It is the loss of people of Hellfire that they are prohibited from encountering Him and it is the blessing of people of Paradise to encounter Him.
