Muslims: What Does "Muslim" Mean in the Qu'ran?

The Title says it all, really. What does Muslim mean. In the Qu’ran. Define it for me, please. Thank U.

(Quran 3:19):
YUSUFALI: The Religion before Allah is Islam (submission to His Will): Nor did the People of the Book dissent therefrom except through envy of each other, after knowledge had come to them. But if any deny the Signs of Allah, Allah is swift in calling to account.
PICKTHAL: Lo! religion with Allah (is) the Surrender (to His Will and Guidance). Those who (formerly) received the Scripture differed only after knowledge came unto them, through transgression among themselves. Whoso disbelieveth the revelations of Allah (will find that) lo! Allah is swift at reckoning.
SHAKIR: Surely the (true) religion with Allah is Islam, and those to whom the Book had been given did not show opposition but after knowledge had come to them, out of envy among themselves; and whoever disbelieves in the communications of Allah then surely Allah is quick in reckoning.

إِنَّ الدِّينَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ الإِسْلامُ وَمَا اخْتَلَفَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ إِلا مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَهُمُ الْعِلْمُ بَغْيًا بَيْنَهُمْ وَمَنْ يَكْفُرْ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ سَرِيعُ الْحِسَابِ

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 2, Number 9:
*The Prophet said, “A Muslim is the one who avoids harming Muslims with his tongue and hands. And a Muhajir (emigrant) is the one who gives up (abandons) all what Allah has forbidden.” *

عن النبي ‏ ‏صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ ‏قال ‏ ‏المسلم من سلم المسلمون من لسانه ويده والمهاجر من هجر ما نهى الله عنه ‏

So… I guess that it’s not really a historical contradiction that the Pharaoh of the Qu’ran said, “I am a Muslim!” before Allah drowned him even though it wasn’t until 1400 years ago that Muslims actually existed as a religious group?

this word denoting man’s “self-surrender to God” and “one who surrenders himself to God,” without limiting himself to any specific community or denomination - e.g., in 3:67, where Abraham is spoken of as having “surrendered himself unto God” (kana musliman), or in 3:52 where the disciples of Jesus say, “Bear thou witness that we have surrendered ourselves unto God (bianna** muslimoon**).”

In its universal sense, Islam may be said to have three levels of meaning.
All beings in the universe, to begin with, are Muslim, i.e. “surrendered to the Divine Will.” . . . Secondly, all men who accept with their will the sacred law of the revelation are Muslim in that they surrender their will to that law. . .
Finally, we have the level of pure knowledge and understanding. It is that of the contemplative, the gnostic . . . The gnostic is Muslim in that his whole being is surrendered to God; he has no separate individual existence of his own.
