Joshua 10: 12 On the day the LORD gave the Amorites over to the Israelites, Joshua spoke to the LORD in the presence of Israel: “Sun, stand still over Gibeon, and moon, over the valley of Aijalon.” 13 And the sun stood still
and the moon stopped, until the nation took vengeance on its enemies. Isn’t this written in the Book of Jashar? So the sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed its setting almost a full day.

Matthew 8: 23 As He got into the boat, His disciples followed Him. 24 Suddenly, a violent storm arose on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves. But He was sleeping. 25 So the disciples came and woke Him up, saying, “Lord, save [us]! We’re going to die!” 26 But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, you of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea. And there was a great calm. 27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this?—even the winds and the sea obey Him!”

We see the bible’s prophet Joshua and Jesus both commanding the celestial bodies in full public view without fear and they listen to them. But….SEE THIS:

."[Sahih Bukhari Volume 2, Book 18, Number 167] Narrated Abu Musa: The sun eclipsed and the Prophet got up in fright, being afraid that it might be his hour of judgement. He went to the Mosque and offered the prayer with the longest Qiyam, bowing and prostration that I had ever seen him doing.

BUT…the greatest Islamic prophet Muhammad(pbuh) shrank back trembling in fear. WHY?

The eclipse of the sun and the moon is a sign from God. The prayers he offered with his companions to show their awe in such mighty signs. Fear and hope.

Jesus pbuh is our messenger too so we have no problem with his qualities. I think you forgetting this point. Each messenger was sent with a special qualities. They all are brothers.

301, of course we know its a sign, but that’s not the question. The question is why was he in such terrible fear compared to the other ‘lesser’ prophets?

Qualities? You mean quality of lacking in courage?

which kind of courage are you talking about ? if you wanna examples about his courage we can give you many

Abu Bakr – May Allah be pleased with him for example – said: “ In the heat of a battle we were seeking protection in the Prophet [pbuh] as he is the example of courage.
He did not direct the battle from behind, but he was always in the advance guard and in forefront .

One night, people heard horrible noises. They were frightened because they thought it was a sudden attack by enemy forces. When they came out to see what the matter was, they saw Allah’s Messenger, (PBUH), riding on a horse with a sword hanging down his neck and calling out, “It’s all right! Don’t be afraid!” Undoubtedly, he (PBUH) was the bravest and most courageous of all.

In the same context, the venerable Companion, Ali Bin Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, said, “Whenever the battle became hard, and the fight became fierce, we used to take refuge with Allah’s Messenger, (PBUH), as no one would be nearer to the enemies than he was.”

but the situation in your post is fearing of God , i confess that our prophet fear God , but is that disqualify him ? nay ; completely the opposite

elwill, I may be terribly afraid of ghosts but very brave when fighting humans. That doesn’t make me a courageous man. It just means I like to fight.

What we have put here is placing muhammad on the same level ground as the other prophets for comparison purpose, so we have to compare using the same standards.

Since the other prophets had no fear and are able to even control celestial bodies, why should islam’s greatest prophet fear a simple eclipse? And even then shouldn’t he know that an eclipse is not equal to judgement since it is even believed by most muslims that muhammad can split the moon into halves???

Either he does not know eclipse is not equal to judgement day, which makes him unbelievable as a candidate able to invoke the splicing of the moon, or he thinks the eclipse is equal to judgement day, which makes him unbelievable as a heralder of any salvation since he himself is afraid of judgement.

Would you follow a man who tells you…I know the way! follow me and you will be saved! and he goes on to curse you for not following his way…but when its time for his own judgement, he faints. Totally ludicrous situation.

A good question…👍

Indeed he should fear nothing as “a prophet of God”, and he should be happy that this life will end so that we go and live with God. :yup:

right , then you should to apply that in your comparison
the prophet mohammed (pbuh) feared the judgment day , dose the courage of prophets which you mentioned refrenced to the judgement day ?
What we have put here is placing muhammad on the same level ground as the other prophets for comparison purpose, so we have to compare using the same standards.
if you wanna to use the same standard , then you have to apply the command of our prophet to the moon to split , was he afraid while he doing so ?

He was not afraid of the sun or the moon , the situation reminded him with the sign of day of judgment so that he begun to pray

or may be the narrator got it wrong , as you can see the prophet didn’t say that he thought it’s the judgment day itself

and about fearing of judgment day , we apply another equation
most devout , faithfull and rightious men are the most of them fearfull to God and fearfull to judgment day
Would you follow a man who tells you…I know the way! follow me and you will be saved! and he goes on to curse you for not following his way…but when its time for his own judgement, he faints. Totally ludicrous situation.
there’s nothing about his own judgment in this hadeeth , it says the judgment day or resurrection day

secondly , as i told you before , i’m in the fact believe that the prophets are the most of humans fearfull to God

so , your conclusions in the fact support our understanding and our beliefs

I think you’re not exactly coherent in your speech and thinking. I read your answer thrice and I still don’t know what the heck you’re talking here.

Its total gibberish.

sorry for that

well , your entire view is that the bible’s prophet Joshua and Jesus (peace be upon them all ) both commanding the celestial bodies in full public view without fear and they listen to them.

my point is that mohammed (pbuh) didn’t fear the sun or moon as a celestial bodies , what happened is that the situation reminded him with the judgment day

read these verses m may be you can realize what i mean

Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection;
Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true).
Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones?
Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers!
But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him.
**He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? **
**so when sight is confounded **
**And the moon is eclipsed **
And sun and moon are united,
**On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! **
**Alas! No refuge! **
Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day.
On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind.

what happened is that the situation reminded him with this terrible day which be described in quran

Firstly, to eclipse the moon the sun would be blocking it and not the other way around which we are talking about here. (moon block sun, not sun block moon)

Secondly, why would he have the idea that an eclipse = judgement day? We have eclipses every other decade and we don’t see judgement day. As a prophet of a ‘deity’ wouldn’t that imply that the guy lacks understanding?

Thirdly, why would he, the person who is trying to lead billions into salvation, himself FEAR salvation?

Finally, judgement day or not, these other prophets showed no fear for their lives and both judgement day and the onset of a natural disaster means death (physical or spiritual).

So, regardless of how we look at it, muhammad showed absolute fear without valid reason.

you meant to say fear God , not salvation , did you ?

yes he is the most of us fearing judgment day because he is the most of us have knowledge about it , becuse he knows how terrible and hard this day will be in general

do you know what is the problem in this argument ?
you trying to disqualify our prophit because of his fearfull to God , while in the fact i will feel proud to talking with you about his fearfull to God

Islam baiting? What’s that?
It where people try to think of ways to bring people down rather than trying to build up My fathers goodness in them. You may like to consider Yeshua (pbwh) life and the many examples of how he treated people. Even when they were trying to trip him up on his teaching he was gentle to them offering them goodness.
We need to qualify in very specific terms why muslims esteem certain things higher than others.
Who is your we you look to be on your own. Even if you claim The spirit to be with you He needs not to qualify anything for He is all knowing. As to the need to qualify in specific terms why do you or the multiple of you need this, you seem far from open to Islamic religion seeming intention showing error. Please realise i dont speak for you in this saying seeming shows the impression i draw. If you are intent to show error in Islam your statement looks false.

Bless you may you be in peace and live a life of building the true Kingdom

Peace and blessings Bro, 2 long no speak to.
I trust in the One True G-d above all u & yours are as well as can be.

Bro, i am not sure all the prophets (pbut) are always never fearing. Was Moses (pbuh) afraid to speak to Pharaoh so was given Aarron (pbuh)?

I am not good with scripture but i think some prophets (pbut) are humble and thus fearful or at last reluctant.

It is G-d who strengthens them similarly we need His strength to do good.

I am not good with Quran as I know you are and assume Mosacked must be but can you tell me does Quran teach not to distinguish between the prophets (pbut) or some thing like.

I know may muslims use hadith to explain ranking of prophets (pbuh) but by Islamic teaching Quran is a revelation from Allah and Hadiths are narrations collected some 100-300 or so years later?

In the Quran is Mohamed (pbuh) explained as a sinner and in need of repentance? Is Yeshua (pbwh) explained as a sinner? or as given the pure spirit as a helper?

In the bible i see Yeshua (pbwh) as being afraid in the garden the night of his arrest. It was only men coming for him surely he saw G-d he prayed to as much more powerful than them.

Now to be real honest with you all i am not here to defend Islam, I have come for the benefit of my Brother Mosacked because my Father loves him very much.

Brother my heart says you are not helping the One True Church as My Father says you want to. You are placing your self at risk of judgement by the same manner. The truth has two edges and when we are men being blind we dont see the cuts it makes in us. I am really trying to gently show you how it looks to me.

I pray you look at the fruit your work is bringing, how many people have you turned to a better more loving way? How many people have pushed away from you and maybe they even got prideful, stubborn or angry? Any one who says they seek One G-d who is above all others, we are often better not to make prideful, stubborn or angry as this can often make an open door for Satan and closed for love.

If you see me as wrong in these words then you must do as you see your god guides you.

I pray that all here at CAF including those with beliefs similar to yours encourage you to step forward with love and clarify the basis for beliefs.

Depart from me Steven, I don’t need your witness, and I’m not the one showing the error in islam.

I speak of what I hear. God tells me that islam which purposefully rejects the deity of Christ is the Anti-Christ. And His Bible tells me too that muhammad was a fraudster.

1 John 2:22 Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Messiah. Such a man is the Antichrist—he denies the Father (God) and the Son (Jesus). Luke 16:16 The Law and the Prophets were until John the Baptist.
