** In the name of Allah , the Most Gracious , Ever Merciful **

Man is mortal , God is immortal . Man needs to eat , drink , go to toilet , Man needs to sleep , God is above all these need. It’s very illogical that mortal men can kill their own Creator.

Allah! La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists.

Neither slumber, nor sleep overtake Him.

To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His Permission? He knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter . And they will never compass anything of His Knowledge except that which He wills.

His Kursee extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. And He is the Most High, the Most Great. (This Verse 2:255 is called Ayat-ul-Kursee.)

( سورة البقرة , Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #255)
But God could be a burning bush and a whisper?

In the name of Allah , Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Salaam/peace

Muslims don’t believe God became a 100 % burning bush 🙂
That is not the question. It is not one of “How much of it was God” But “Could God do that?”

ralph, that was not God in the bush. Whoever told you that. God has got angels and they perform all such functions. That was done through the agency of an angel by which Allah spoke to Moses a.s.

Can you show me that in the Bible?

No sane muslim ( or a jew as far as i have heared from them themselves ) would reply to such a crazy post!!

Meedo, we really need good rationalizing Muslim posters on this thread because we lack it badly. You have the potential, please do not ruin it.
Do you want Muslims and jews to prove to you that God cannot turn into a cow or a train or a cactus fruit?!

inJESUS;4864454:
** inJesus, if you think it was God come to Abraham then you are mis-reading the bibleOT. That one who visited Abraham was not God. Whoever it was, is said to be Lord. But that is not God. Do you think it was God there in front of Abraham, speaking to him? Please reply. It was not God, in my opinion.**
Your opinion is wrong.

Genesis 3:1-15 is very clear that the angel appeared, but the voice was that of God.

1 Meanwhile Moses was tending the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian. Leading the flock across the desert, he came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

2 There an angel of the LORD appeared to him in fire flaming out of a bush. As he looked on, he was surprised to see that the bush, though on fire, was not consumed.

3 ** So Moses decided, “I must go over to look at this remarkable sight, and see why the bush is not burned.”**

4 **When the LORD saw him coming over to look at it more closely, God called out to him from the bush, “Moses! Moses!” He answered, “Here I am.”
**
5 God said, "Come no nearer! Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.

6 ** I am the God of your father,"** he continued, “the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob.” Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.

7 But the LORD said, "I have witnessed the affliction of my people in Egypt and have heard their cry of complaint against their slave drivers, so I know well what they are suffering.

8 **Therefore I have come down to rescue them from the hands of the Egyptians and lead them out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey, the country of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites.
**
9 **So indeed the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have truly noted that the Egyptians are oppressing them.
**
10 **Come, now! I will send you to Pharaoh to lead my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt."
**
11 But Moses said to God, "Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and lead the Israelites out of Egypt?"

12 ** He answered, “I will be with you; and this shall be your proof that it is I who have sent you: when you bring my people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this very mountain.”
**
13 “But,” said Moses to God, "when I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ if they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what am I to tell them?"

14 ** God replied, “I am who am.” **Then he added, “This is what you shall tell the Israelites: I AM sent me to you.”

15 ** God spoke further to Moses, "Thus shall you say to the Israelites: The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. "This is my name forever; this is my title for all generations.

**Pax, thanks for your effort. Please read the verse 3;1 and 3;2. It is clearly written that it was angel who appeared as a burning bush.

You have admitted that it was an angel but the voice was that of God. The voice of God could also be conveyed by the angel. I am sure that God Himself was not there and no one has seen God, in my opinion. Please understand. I asked inJesus if he/she believed that it was The God who came to Abraham and spoke to Abraham. I need reply.**.

You deny the Divinity and Omnipotence of God?

**Pax I do not deny the omnipotence of God. In my post.
I asked inJesus if he/she believed that it was The God who came to Abraham and spoke to Abraham. I need reply…

You have not replied. Instead you are discussing omnipotence. First reply Yes or No then we will discuss othe rthings.**

I thought you guys believed in GOD THE ALMIGHTY not in God who can´t do something…

The almighty can do what eventually serve the reality of his nature. It is the essence of teh abrahamic God that he commanded us since the begining of time to worship him alone. Not his creations. He did not communicate to us any dieties he manifested in for us to worship us beside him. The idea of discussing what God can or cant do is not valid because the essence of the power and capabilities of God is not for us to Judge. what is the discussion about is what is relevant for us humans , which is how we should worship him properly.

God have smitten people who worshiopped calves, who worshipped statues , who worshipped Pharouh. Basicly anobody who worshipped anything that walked on this earth is not looked upon as a believer by God. Even the sons of God he mentioned in the OT bieng righteous as they were , he didn’t order to worship. God never changes means that hindus always worshipped a cow and the cow never changes. It means that the understanding of God according to all the abrahamic prophets have not changed.

That means that Abraham and moses understood God as one with no incarnation in other creatures or earthly forms never changes. That means he wouldnt be doing that . if a man comes to you today and tells you i am God incarnate and does miracles would you follow him? how do you know he is not God if you believe in the ability for God to incarnate. By this logic Ben. Moses could have convinced the hebrews that he is God incarnate . He did miracles and he is a man . Hell he parted the sea!! What jesus did in his life was that he did miracles and also he was a man . isnt it the same as moses ?

i have read somewhere in the OT God was warning to not believe in people who will do everything good and even predict the future and eventually call people to worship other or get tthem astray from God. Just because a man says he is God incarnate and did miracles doesnt make him truthful.

If you look at a square and you tild it a bit, what do you get? A dimond. Did you change anything? Have you added or subtracted anything to the shape? NO…you just approached it with a different angle. All I can say is God works through mysterious ways, and we will NEVER be able to fully grasp the understanding of His divinity.
yes you changed it, you tilted it a bit . God doesnt tilt one bit nor alter one bit. and God is not a square and nor like anything we can imagine. Nothing is like him so we canm give examples upon. This is one of the concepts of knowing God is that you can never comprehend his nature. If you comprehend it then it isnt him. Imagine Jesus. He is a soul within a human flesh . You have seen him , touched him , and comprehended him. and he acted like a man. Thus he isnt God

To get one more thing straight, its not you who has the right to ask how can God do this and that, but it is your duty to answer why dont you believe God can do this or that. This answer obviously traces back to Muhammad and his teachings which appeared 600 hundred years AFTER Jesus Christ died and was ressurected. So in order to make a legitimate debate, why dont you first answer us why wasn`t Islam practiced before Muhammad, and how did the laws of Islam get allegedly corrupted?
This issue in the abrahamic understanding or traditiion is specifcically to Christianity what you say is not somthing that Muhammed came with. It is somthing that Moses nor abraham understood either. This is specific to the understanding of Christianity and in my views and in the views of Jews is totally wrong. God does not do acts that degrade his nature that he communicated to us since the begining of time. The message was simple and one. I am God and you can never comprehend my nature. I am what i am and that is it. When he starts getting suddenly incarnated into human created flesh then soimthing is wrong. The burning bush isnt God ,nor an incarnation of God. nor Light is God or the incarnation of God. or else moses and other prophets would command us top worship God as the the burning bush and the light!

Now Meedo, you have been very kind here, and also somewhat consistent in replying questions unlike Muslim Woman and Sister Amy and others. So I please ask you not to ignore this topic and reply with an honest answer, if you can`t then I understand and I hope you start to really learn about the origin of Catholism and its teachings.

I am here on this catholic forum and not any other Christian forum because i feel catholics are sensible people. I have to be kind to people because it is my obligation to my fellow humans. And something when one does , spreads peace in the world. I hope with all my heart and i mean it really that none of my posts are taken as an attack or insult. I My faith is attacked and insulted all the time and the last thing i want is to do the same. I am trying to make some polite critisism and i hope people can see that . Many people on this forum are dear to me and i can definetly imagine them as my friends. We were born with different faiths. We disagree on faiths. But every one of us deserve ( without having to prove he or she deserves it) respect and dignity

I disagree on your doctrine concerning God . But all of the people here are dear to me .

I know there is going to be easter in a month or so .

I wish you all in advance to have the happiest time of your lives and rejoice with your families in love and unity.

best regards,

meedo

God Bless you my brother

And May God Bless you and your family and loved ones always winth Happiness and joy. Thank you so much for this nice prayer. 🙂

i agree and Jesus to us IS God, not a creation. You might say no He is not, but that will not change the fact that we worship God, not a creature.
The idea of discussing what God can or cant do is not valid because the essence of the power and capabilities of God is not for us to Judge. what is the discussion about is what is relevant for us humans , which is how we should worship him properly.
agree as well.
God never changes means that hindus always worshipped a cow and the cow never changes.
agree. And i repeat, there is no change in God, God is God…how He manifests Himself is His own business, but He is still God. That is, if He manifests Himself to you right now as a man, He is still God in essence. If God talks to you right now in Arabic language, using human voice and breath, He is still God in essence.
It means that the understanding of God according to all the abrahamic prophets have not changed.
God’s revelations are progressive and we cannot say that any prophet “knew” God in the sense of grasping what God is and Jesus says no one knows the Father except the Son meaning no one knows God except God Himself. The minute a human can know fully about God, the human no longer is human because God is beyond any human’s grasp, even prophets’. Even Muhammad whom you believe is the last of prophets with whom religion is “perfected”, still he said what we all know, that nothing is like God, but he did not know any better. God is One, all prophets know this, even demons knows this, but what God will later do is not within the prophet’s knowledge to know unless God reveals it and how God revealed Himself to Adam is not how God revealed Himself to Abraham, Moses, Elijiah, Elisha, Daniel, Jeremiah, Isaiah ecc. It is God who chooses how He sees fit to manifest Himself.
That means that Abraham and moses understood God as one with no incarnation in other creatures or earthly forms never changes.
am not sure the Bible supports this. Besides, none of them said what you wrote because it is none of their business what God will do thousands of years later, that’s **if **we take for granted that what you are writing about them is correct because we read in the previously quoted passage, Abraham adressing the angel as God Himself, and the angel speaking as God Himself.

if God who was speaking to Moses and Abraham said " i am talking to you now and i will appear to you as a man", do you think Moses or Abraham would have dared tell Him what He must or must not do, how He can manifest Himself or how He cannot?
if a man comes to you today and tells you i am God incarnate and does miracles would you follow him?
then why do you expect Jesus to have said " I am God" to first century Jews?

Besides, your question is as equal to that of questioning a prophet. Does anyone who preach about God and makes miracles is a prophet? no. How do we know? we refer to God’s words to know if he is a prophet or not. Why? because God gives us the means to determine truth from falsehood, He does not confuse us by telling us that scriptures are corrupt and this one man is a prophet despite everything.
how do you know he is not God if you believe in the ability for God to incarnate. By this logic Ben. Moses could have convinced the hebrews that he is God incarnate . He did miracles and he is a man . Hell he parted the sea!! What jesus did in his life was that he did miracles and also he was a man . isnt it the same as moses ?
BUT, Moses did NOT claim what Jesus did which boils down to one thing, either Jesus is who He claims He is, or He is not telling the truth. Why do we believe Jesus says the truth? one, He is prophecized , second He does not contradict scriptures. Third, He did miracles to support His claims. Fourth, He prophecized about His own death and resurrection after 3 days. A false prophet will never be able to do at least number 4, which is prophecizing about His own death AND resurrection because a false prophet can twist scriptures, fake miracles, and lie about prophecies but a false prophet CANNOT resurrect himself. A human who claims to be God in the flesh, quoting scriptures, doing miracles AND challenging people to “destoy his temple” and he will rebuild it in 3 days cannot be but God because humans can fake whatever you want except death and resurrection which is ONLY in God’s power to do.Do not underestimate Jesus’ death and resurrection because it isn’t to be understood on one level (salvation and period) but on a dozen level , among them PROVING who He said He is.
