Being a relatively new Catholic, I am looking to for new ways to bring Catholicism into my home, such as home decor. What are some things you feel that your home could not go without?

A crucifix, a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary and a picture of the Sacred Heart/Divine Mercy.

Rosary and a prayer book will help. Good proper Icons is also good.

Also, epiphany water is very powerful and is blessed once a year on the Feast of the Epiphany.

For me I have a giant wooden rosary, it’s beautiful to have on the wall as a decoration and to even bring down on occasion to use for praying the rosary.
Also what I have is a nice Divine Mercy Image, and an Image of Our Lady Of Guadalupe. Also recently what I’ve been doing is actually utilizing some of my books in a decorative way. The book shelves that I have allow me to face certain title covers facing front. One way you could use this to signify your Catholic devotion to guests or for your own happiness is to make your bible a main center piece in your room.
Hope this helps 😊
I also agree with everyone else about of course having a crucifix aswell to remind you everyday of True Love.

Peace in Christ through Mary,
Adam / Fulton

Add to all of the aforementioned, a Holy Water font, Bible & Catechism.

Our church has a very nice one made of scroll saw letters and numbers…I have to ask the Monsignor what, if any, blessings were used…

I’m sure the Monsignor will know about epiphany chalk; if he doesn’t, you can always find the blessing online and give it to him. My parish started blessing the chalk a few years ago and we all agree that the chalking of the doors is a beautiful ceremony - it helps Catholic families reclaim their liturgical identity and call down blessings from the Almighty.

I have developed a prayer corner in one part of the main living room on a shelf. It has a statue of our Blessed Mother, an assortment of icons, including my favourite of the Good Shepherd. It has candles and an incense burner too. I have a smaller version in my bedroom. There are crosses in many places, and I try and keep a rosary in every room so I am always battle ready 🙂 and we have bibles everywhere for the same reason.

Catholic or religious artwork. I love the work of William Bogeureau. There are many of Mary and Jesus.

There is a plaque version in our church…not chalked. I imagine it’s been blessed…Our church gave out blessed chalk two years ago, still have it and use it!

That’s a nice idea! I might get a plaque for my house because the rain often washes the chalk away.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. They were all very insightful.

We have three different nativity sets. Four if you include the plastic Little People set for the kids.

Definitely nativity scene for Christmas, St Michael, St Peter, and Mary are helpful especially as in the Lady of Fatima. A rosary, the chaplet of the divine mercy, and the liturgy of the hours. Finally a Bible, a crucifix, and the catecism of the Catholic Church

Just remember that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. We appreciate having Mary as our intercessor, but God has predominance.

That said, it’s most important to bring people to Christ so they have an encounter with Him.

I think this is essential for Christmas. Many of my non-religious friends love seeing it when they visit my home. They said it reminds them of their childhood and makes them feel very festive. I think it’s a great way to evangelise.
