Must I re-confess grave sins in number if I wasn't specific enough the first time about how many times I confession them?

Hi,

A few years ago I made a good confession after about ten years. For a couple of grave sins, I stated that I committed them “more times than I can remember” (or something along those lines). Now I realize the obligation to confess grave sins in kind and number. Do I need to mention those sins again in confession and give a specific approximated number for them?

Thanks!

Hi,

If such an expression was acceptable to the confessor (and you haven’t mentioned any negative comments on his part), then there is no reason to repeat the Confession. Most importantly, you were not deliberately concealing anything. So those sins were forgiven–period!
