Must I wait until Easter to enter the Church if I am ready now?

I have recently completely all my training in RCIA to receive the sacraments and my priest wants me to receive them the Sunday after this. I had read online that for RCIA converts you have to receive the sacraments on the Easter Vigil. Is that true or is my priest right and I can receive them on any given Sunday? It’s important since I am to receive them soon.

Hi,

It is up to the discretion of the pastor as to when a person can be received into the Church. If for some reason a particular person is ready in July, there is no reason to make that person wait a year for Easter. Most people, however, are not ready until they have gone through the entire RCIA program.
