Anyone who does not believe that the worldwide shuffling and transfering of pedophile priests to avoid prosecution was not orchestrated by Rome has allowedd thewir loyalty to cloud their ability reason.
The unitive-ness would not be in question. The procreative-ness would. My wife and I are in our 50s. She was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and is taking a drug that makes NFP virtually impossible to use. If she were to get pregnant while on this drug, which she will use for several more years, the baby would like suffer birth defects and she stands a good chance of dying due to the pregnancy. We are “open to life” and always have been. But I think that the Church’s position on “vaginal only” intercourse in all situations is just silly. It has really caused me to question my faith. There is nothing “non-unitive” in engaging in other forms of sex. The Church claims to support natural law, but does not take into account “nature” and our natural ability to think and solve the issues presented here. Does the Church’s position really make any sense?
There is no such requirement. A procreative act at an infertile time will not produce a pregnancy. It is stupid to require that people procreate in the circumstances noted above.
I have read the thread and understand. Clearly avoiding pregnancy is appropriate in the circumstances you describe. If you are stating that it is impossible to determine fertile/ infertile times in your wife’s cycle (clearly expert medical advice required to ascertain if that is so), and given the need to avoid pregnancy, then you are called to abstain till the situation changes. If you are both in you 50s, menopause, rather that the resolution of the medical condition may change your situation. You just aren’t reading or understanding the issue. What if pregnancy will result in the situation outlined above.
I note your conclusion. Could you explain your reasoning in more detail? Or if you are familiar with the Church’s reasoning, could you point out where you see it flawed?I am disputing the validity of the Church’s teaching. Natural law does not unequivocally lead to the conclusion that only vaginal intercourse is acceptable. If this were true, then it would be the only source of sexual pleasure. The Church’s teaching is wrong and silly.
Reported. You are an abusive, mean-minded little person, and what you don’t know about the Church you’re running down could fill libraries.Your closed mine prevents you from thinking for yourself. According to you, there is only one right answer-- the old unmarried pedophile protector’s. WHo is closed minded?
Yes there were. Presumably they were deleted after one at-least-nominally Catholic poster began mocking Church teachings and insulting its defenders.I looked at this thread a few hours ago, and there were several more posts (including one or two of my own). Have they all been deleted?? If so - would it not be appropriate for the Mods to leave a brief post such as “Several posts deleted due to …”.
Yes, a large number of posts were deleted because a poster was irately mocking Church teaching, the pope, and other posters, as sw85 said, and derailing the thread from the topic.I looked at this thread a few hours ago, and there were several more posts (including one or two of my own). Have they all been deleted?? If so - would it not be appropriate for the Mods to leave a brief post such as “Several posts deleted due to …”.
