Birth control is a product that reduces the likelihood of conception during intercourse. With mutual masturbation, there is no intercourse.

There is no intercourse. Exactly, and that means that you are using a form of contraception. Contra is the opposite of or contrary to conception.

It became available because demand for it increased.

It became available because it was proven to stop conception.

A. What statistics B. How do you know which one is causing the other? Or whether or not both are the result of some other phenomena?

I got this answer from Catholic priests. Ask the priests on EWTN.

Because there is no such thing as child support? I’m sure this has led to poverty in some cases, but do you have anything that suggest this is happening on a large scale?

You know how wide spread this has become in our country. Child support? If they receive it at all.

That has to do with single parents. Not mutual masturbation or contraception.

I know, that was my point the increase of divorce, poverty, and latch key children correlating with birth control.

I have seen many medical charts where women were using abc and when it failed they would have abortions or they would space their babies by just using abortion as their birth control. Part of the downward moral decline.

You tell me

This is true.

If a child is conceived, does this mean God did not will that child? Do some children God willed not get conceived?

No, God willed the child. No.

I’m glad you found happiness.

Gianna raises a good point. I have been in a situation similar to hers. I think people have a tendency to look at the church’s rules and regs as crimping our style. It makes sense to me for people in healthy marriages with good sex lives to be frustrated that some things are out of bounds in the bedroom. Having been in an abusive marriage, though, I view the Church’s sexual teachings as liberating, and I wish I had know about them long ago. They would have given me solid ground to stand on, to feel that I had the right to protect myself from demeaning sexual practices. Mutual masturbation because a husband wants to use his wife for sex without the responsibility of possibly conceiving, and he stimulates her so that he can say that it was mutual. You should all shudder at that.

It’s very hard to draw lines about what’s okay and what’s not if it’s all based on how people feel about it. I really appreciate that the Church can look logically at natural law and scripture and draw those lines as a safety net for all of us.
