There are female Catholic lay apologists and catechists. I see them often on book tours, parish lecture tours etc. I agree with you that they aren’t as visible as the male apologists, but they are out there. I wish I could remember the specific names of the ones that have been through my parishes, but because I generally don’t attend any lay apologist/ catechist events regardless of gender, I can’t recall names. Other than Susan Tassone because she focuses on Purgatory and indulgences, which is a particular interest of mine.

There isn’t. But I think if you are looking to pit the sexes against each other in terms of “leadership roles” then you’re taking up the wrong viewpoint, as a Catholic. There’s no problem with looking at female role-models, but we are called to holiness, not total equality.
