My Apologies

I’ll be going to confession tomorrow and it occurs to me that I should apologize to any I’ve offended by some of the sharp answers/replies that I have offered, particularly There Can Be Only 1, Bob P123, and LatinMassLover. I’m not apologizing for what I said. I believe very serious errors are posted as truth in these fora and I believe that the possibility for the innocent to be mislead is very, very dangerously real. I am, however, apologizing for the way in which I have replied to provocations offered. One lack of charity does not excuse another. So I ask forgiveness for any harshness I’ve exhibited and for any scandal I have offered.

Forgiven. Will you forgive my harshness as well? Like you, I believe the points that I was making, but the expression of them was far from Christian at times. I keep telling myself that it won’t happen again, but then sinful pride kicks in and then…you know how it goes. Whether its a sarcastic/harsh comment or a simple misinterpretation of tone (which should be clarified) our responses to each other and others could’ve been handled better.

For future references I think that a simple little, "you’re slipping:) " will suffice to get us back on track, to remind us of this confession/firm purpose of amendment we’re making, and to correct the context before things get out of hand. We’re all Catholic with a love for the Jesus Christ and His Church and we want to do the right thing.

I’d also like to add my apologies to all that I offended, whether directly or indirectly, and ask for pardon for the scandal that defending my pride caused.

Since I have had you on ignore for some time, vegas, I generally don’t find anything you say offensive except when I read quotes made by you against me to someone else regarding something that is not quite my position. But don’t worry about me, I don’t know everything and I’m out of line a lot but I do know that you need to answer to God first. As we all do.

Definitely you are Forgiven. You need not worry yourself.
I too like LatinMassLover believe in what I have said concerning issues we have been discussing, but I admit my demeanor in many instances may have been inappropriate.
As you, I too believe many are being mislead.
I too apologize for any hurt I may have caused to anyone and hope that you and God shall forgive me.

Very commendable to offer apologies, JKirk, and I say this as one who is generally on the opposite side of your positions on traditionalist issues.

I hope that discussions among Catholics can continue without ad hominem attacks and barbs that wound the spirit of charity.
