Hello guys,

Thought you might be interested in an article I wrote on Saint Constantine the Great, Equal to the Apostles. I was doing a Saint a week for a while a few years ago (I might be starting it up again soon). It’s a very short read. Here’s the link: marcanthony.hubpages.com/hub/St-Constantine-the-Great-Equal-to-the-Apostles

I also did articles on Blessed Charles the Great or Charlemagne, Blessed Karl I of Austria, and the Archangel Saint Raphael. I think I did others, but I can’t recall right now. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it 🙂

In the end, though, it must be remembered that a proclamation of Sainthood only designates, ultimately, that it can be said with assurance that a particular person is experiencing the Beatific Vision of God in Heaven
You post *that *on a subforum filled with Palamites? :o

How about Saints Adam and Eve and how they were received in Heaven?

Glad you said that, I actually have a source on Saints Adam and Eve bookmarked for future use!

I find writing about the Eastern Saints to be very interesting since so few people know about them in comparison to the Latin Saints.

I try to use famous people that most people don’t realize are Saints, or Saints that people know of but know very little about. I want to write about Blessed Pope John Paul the Great one day, his life was absolutely fascinating. I’m saving Saint Nicholas, my confirmation Saint, for December 😉

I might start writing my Adam and Eve article now, actually!

Do one on St. Gregory Palamas. That will be your punishment 😃

That would be interesting. My articles are supposed to be on Catholic Saints and Blesseds, Eastern or Western, and a quick search tells me that his status as a Catholic Saint is controversial.

Constantine is even more controversial than St. Palamas in the CC. I don’t even think the Latins have him as a saint.

He’s a Saint, Constantines struggles understanding as a Christian are known. Yet without a doubt he helped push Christianity foward in a difficult period. Arian heresy was front and center in this period and a good part of Constantines life for years were spent contemplating this it appears. He was pretty old when he was Baptised finally. I imagine all this weighed heavy on him.

The Council of Nicea really was so Constantine could have some understanding of what all the Bishops thought in which he quickly realized unity wasn’t as he thought. Things haven’t changed much have they?

The Latins do not, but my articles are meant to be about ALL Catholic Saints and Blesseds, not just Latin Catholic Saints and Blessed. He is considered a Saint in the Byzantine Catholic Church.

In other words: Photius isn’t going to be on the list anytime soon 😃

From what I’ve looked up St. Palamas’s status as a Saint in the Melkite Catholic Church seems to be subject to debate. It seems to be leaning in his favor though since Blessed Pope John Paul II referred to him as Saint Palamas, so I think I’ll use him as next week’s Saint of the week.
