My Assemblies of God fiance's family objects to my Catholicism; help!

I’m Roman Catholic and my fiance is of assemblies of god. I see us as both being Christians, we have talked about religion and have not had any fights about it since we both believe it is important that we both love and serve God. However, many of his family members have reacted negatively when they found of that I was Catholic and it seems like they have something against them. Why?
 
Dear friend,

Never mind his family. Think long and hard about the matter of your responsibility to do all that you can the rear your children in the Catholic faith. Chances are, he isn’t going to go for this.
This is a major obstacle than needs to be dealt with BEFORE marriage. You are in our prayers.
