Hi everyone. My best friend, Darrell, is very mad at me. The reason is because we went bowling and I decided that I wanted us to leave partly because I wanted to get him away from the women that was there because I was feeling jealous. I also wanted to leave partly because I wasn’t feeling good but mostly because I just wanted some alone time with him which we had already had. Darrell says I don’t listen to him. I have been trying to change for 3 weeks now but nothing. I don’t know what to do anymore. I don’t know whether to end the friendship or to hope and pray that it will stay alive. I am crying right now because I am so depressed about this. I want to change to make him more happy but I don’t know how to change. I don’t know if I can change. As I said, I’ve been trying to change for 3 weeks now and to no avail whatsoever. He was just here and I let him go but he is still mad at me. Please pray for him that he would forgive me this time and that we would remain friends. Please also give me some advice cause I am at my wits end. I don’t know what to do anymore. :crying:

Hail Mary,
full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Do you have feeling for him or are you just really close and really like spending time with him?

Both. Definitely both… Now if only he’d forgive me the rest of the way.

I encourage you to take Saint Monca as your model and to ask her to pray for her. She is an excellent intercessor and example.

My best friend is a guy. But thanks, I’ll ask for St. Monica’s intercession.

Holly,

What exactly do you want to change about yourself? Is it your jealousy? Are you jealous of any attention that other women pay to him? Are you jealous of the time he spends with other people? Do you want to limit and control him so that he feels compelled to spend more of his free time with you? Is that the part of you that you would like to change?

Don’t be discouraged. God is with you right now. He is already giving you the gift of looking into your heart to see what He sees, of discovering what it is that needs to be changed, of filling you with the Holy Spirit to make that change possible. If it turns out to be jealousy, then there are ways to tackle the green-eyed monster. Stay with it. You can work through this.
