Hi, Tibusz here.

Actually, I’m a woman, not a man and this is my only user account with this site.

I’m also Catholic but did wonder whether non-Catholics or anti-Catholics use the site to undermine the faith or have a snipe at it - which is why I was v reluctant to make a post at all and only did so at a very low moment.

I apologize if my speculation was off - the timing of the post(s) was very coincidental. Yes, our threads do get posted in other areas to be mocked (though I probably shouldn’t get too defensive about it :o)

I hope my original reply helped a bit with understanding the difference between forgiveness and not condoning sin.

Can I ask again - has your brother previously been married, and does he have children? I think it relates to your concern about the other woman’s children. For example, if your brother is also a father, I would hope that the relatives of any woman he begins a relationship with would accept them wholeheartedly (even if they didn’t think he was the ideal match for their female relative). If he doesn’t have children, it does put a different spin on things.

Could you elaborate a bit on your reluctance to accept his dating choices, ie: what your specific concerns are? Are you worried that his girlfriend’s children won’t respect him since he’s not their father, is it a financial concern, etc.?

Sounds like your brother is a hero!

If this woman was left with three kids and nobody to help her, the bible says it’s virtuous for a man (I think the brother of the husband who died) to step in marry her and help her but that’s in the event of death.
