My family is grateful for your prayers. God bless you.
Tony had surgery late last night. We are grateful that he can move both arms.
He is being moved to a specialized spinal hospital.
We do see the blessings, Lord, that Tony hasn’t lost use of his arms and upper body, that he has specialist medical care, that his house is single storey, that his wife has worked for years as a nursing sister in retirement homes, that one of his sons lives next door to them.
For these things, for our faith to pray, for the unity of our very large family who rally around each other in our good times and in our sad times, we praise and bless You Lord.
We do ask You to give strength and all the graces of this unfamiliar new beginning to this man whom we all love so much, our Tony with his red-gold hair and mischievous grin, loved father of seven. We place him and his shocked wife and family into Your immense love.
May the fullness of Your divine and loving will be fulfilled in Tony’s life and in the lives of each of our family.
:sad_yes:

The Lord is all we have.
In Him we trust.
In Him we hope!

@TS: You’re welcome.

A Prayer for Healing

http://www.holyface.org.uk/images/shroudface.jpg

Lord, You invite all who are burdened to come to You, allow Your healing hand to heal us. Touch our souls with Your compassion for others. Touch our hearts with Your courage and infinite love for all. Touch our minds with Your wisdom, that our mouths may always proclaim Your praise. Teach us to reach out to You in my need, and help us to lead others to You by our example. Most HOLY FACE OF JESUS bring us health in body and spirit that we may serve You with all our strength. Touch us gently this life which You have created, now and forever. Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

**I praise and thank You Lord that Tony is still with us, and is surrounded by love and prayer.
Please bless all those who pray for him and his family

Thank you for your prayers. The family know of them and are grateful**.

Late night message from another sister:

"Tony is fully aware of his situation and is taking things as they come. He is on a respirator but can breathe on his own and they will get him off the respirator soon. Because of the respirator he can’t talk but is communicating with smiles and expressions. He also is able to move his arms enough to ’sort of’ wave. His hand are not open and his movements are ‘like a drunks’ but they are movements and as the swelling and pressure reduces he will gain more movement in his arms.

The surgery went much better than expected and they did not have to remove any vertebrae or do the bone graft that they thought they would need to do as a result of removing vertebrae. He only has a collar rather than a terrible “halo”. He has a broken sternum, and swelling, not just in the spine and has a little fluid on the lung. It is not possible to know what the situation will be in a couple of weeks.

The accident happened on the M. Rd where he aqua-planed in the heavy rain and ended up at a tree in a paddock. He had help immediately. He was cut out of the car from the back of the car (His 4 wheel drive). Bernice didn’t know until the hospital some distance away) rang her…
The whole family is getting lots of support and they are working together. Bernice is making sure that they all have “jobs”
Bernice is hopeful that the hospital will let him home as soon as possible because she is so equipped to care for him. She is very tired but calm and thinking very clearly."

***Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.

Amen.***

Prayers for Tony and your family.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection,
implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother.
To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions,
but in your mercy, hear and answer me.
Amen.

Watch, O Lord, with those who wake, or watch, or weep tonight,
and give Your angels and saints charge over those who sleep.

Tend Your sick ones, O Lord Christ.
Rest Your weary ones.
Bless Your dying ones.
Soothe Your suffering ones.
Pity Your afflicted ones.
Shield Your joyous ones, and all for Your love’s sake.
Amen.

In the name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Prayer for the Sick

God of love and mercy
You inspired Catherine McAuley
To serve Your Son
By responding to the needs of her time.
Moved by her care for the sick,
We ask that through her prayers
You reach out with Your healing love
And restore Tony to full health.
We ask this in complete confidence
Through Jesus Christ, Your Son.

Amen.

Venerable Catherine, pray for us.

Trishie, I am not a nurse nor a doctor, but I have read about many people with spinal injuries who have gradually healed and regained usage of their legs…I will be praying that your brother in law is one of them.

Our Father, who art in Heaven
Hallowed be Thy name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
On Earth as it is in Heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Please, Lord God Almighty, guide this man’s doctors to help him recover from this terrible accident. We thank you that his life was saved by the rescuers. We thank you that his family is able to surround him with love and concern. We ask that you give them strength that is supernatural to deal with what happens in their lives. God, please heal this man completely if it is in Your Holy will to do so. We ask this in the precious Holy Name of Jesus. Amen.

Continued prayers for Tony’s healing and your family.

Holy Mary,
help those in need,
give strength to the weak,
comfort the sorrowful,
pray for God’s people,
assist the clergy,
intercede for religious.
May all who seek your help
experience your unfailing protection.
Amen.

Watch, O Lord, with those who wake, or watch, or weep tonight,
and give Your angels and saints charge over those who sleep.

Tend Your sick ones, O Lord Christ.

Glory to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit

is now, and ever shall be
World without end.

We appreciate your prayers so much. Tony has been moved to a spinal care hospital. He had a partial lung collapse, and the lung has not cleared, he remains on a respirator and various tubes, still communicating with smiles and his hands. As one of my sons said, “Uncle Tony is one of the kindest, gentlest, most upbeat people” he’s ever known. We praise and thank God that he survived the accident at the very place that several others have died.

Heavenly Father please bless each of these generous persons who have prayed and pray for Tony, Bernice and their family.
Please also bless and help them in all their needs and in any crises that may affect them and their loved ones.

Heavenly Father, please help Tony to flourish in all aspects of his recovery and life. He is surrounded by love and support. (Please give support and love to those with illness or serious injuries who appear not to be surrounded by love and support. Surround them with Your love). We trust in Your merciful love that You will bring good and many unexpected blessings to Tony, Bernice, their family, in what seems like disaster.
I ask in the name of Your beloved Son Jesus.
