The one thing I do know, is the Catholic Church is family. I have learned through my wife, and on here, that a Catholic person, or someone coming to the Church is always called family, brother, daughter, sister, and are always welcome “home”.

Today I attened Mass with my wife for the first time. Completly, and utterly lost through about 99.9% of the service 🤷 but i consistently prayed in my head to help me stay, and not leave - I didn’t.

Although i am not Catholic, yet, and although as you all know i have some serious issues to overcome, I wanted to make a real start at repenting, and finding forgiveness, I am willing to put my pride aside and will put myself out there to be forgiven, and will pray that as I fear, I will not be rejected.

So, back to this post.Something came to me after Mass, something I would like to do. I also understand, from what i have read, and what I understand St Peter asked for forgiveness from the disciples(if I’m wrong on this please correct me). I would like to do this as well. As anyone baptized into the church is seen as a disciple of Christ (or so I believe), I would like to first come to you all, and ask sincerely, repenting genuinely, for everything in my past I have done. I write this post as a first gesture toward the Catholic Church and its disciples for all the horrid, and evil things I have done to others, myself, and abuse God has endured due to my evil tongue.

I still feel remorse, but today its different, todays i seek real redemption for my actions and sin, from Christ, The Church and all its disciples.

This was simply my way of coming to you all, humbling myself and saying…I am sorry

All the angels and saints in heaven are rejoicing for you, brother. You will be forgiven. One might argue that you are already forgiven, but it is not for us to presume. In any case, at this point you may have the sure and certain hope of forgiveness and salvation. Persevere and become the saint God created you to be. God bless!

This is such a wonderful first step and a joy to read this post! 😃 I was utterly lost the first month or so that I attended Mass, but was able to look up some stuff online that helped me to be able to memorize the responses as well as knowing what was going to happen next. (We had a priest from another country with a heavy accent so it was nice to see what he was actually saying, LOL!) A site that a friend linked me to which was very helpful is this one:

You certainly have so many of us behind you, praying for you and we will always be here for encouragement as well!

Your post has brought me to tears. I think God is doing great things inside you, my dear brother in Christ. Your heart has been broken over your previous sins, and like Peter, you are sad to find how you have betrayed the One who loves you more than life itself. God bless you. You will remain in my prayers.

Oh, and p.s. - You are coming to Mass at a perfect time! Most churches have cards in the pews to help us Catholics get through a big change in the Mass that took place just at Advent last year. So you have a primer right in front of you, and you will not look out of place for using it. I still use mine a lot! 🙂

For someone to become catholic it is necessary to study the lives of the saints. One big step is to study The way of divine Love, by Sister Josefa Menendez. The next big step is to study the Divine Mercy, by Sister Faustina Kowalska and Brother Stanley Villavicencio.

It is our duty as Catholics to forgive. The Divine Mercy explicitly teaches us the Love of Christ. We must make use of the Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist. A confession to the public is not enough.

Welcome Home

God Bless you on your journey, you gave us a beautifull confession. Think of this as one step of many on a journey to be united to God. Peace be with you always brother -

Matt O.F.S.

You don’t need to apologize to me.I was a terrible sinner,If not for the mother who prayed for me and the grace and mercy of our Lord, where would I be?
Welcome Brother

we are all sinners seeking our Lord. Welcome home!

St.Luke 15:11-32

Just be faithful to your wife, don’t betray her, don’t keep big or medium secrets from her, let that be your inviolable rule, and everything will turn out okay.

Be sure about this: You WILL be tempted to go back! You will see a 1,000 reasons why it won’t hurt anything! You will see a 1,000 reasons why it will be justified, and even good for you and everyone concerned! But those “arguments” will be diabolical LIES meant to RUIN your life and the life of your wife and other loves ones. So, please just BE READY for that. You won’t always go on feeling as repentant and remorseful as you do today.

Perhaps print out this thread and put it in your wallet, to consult when the time comes for the Evil One to do its best to move and really destroy you. That time will come, and you will be vulnerable to it because of your past sinning (this is burden and risk you will likely carry because of that past sinning).

God bless.

We’re all sinners here!

The reading from St. Paul today was very good.

St. Paul tells of a thorn in the flesh sent by a messenger of Satan. It’s probably a sexual sin, though Paul doesn’t describe it, but he does say it keeps him humble. He asked God to remove this sin, but was told that (in my own reading of it) that he doesn’t need the sin removed to be perfect he needs God;s grace to be perfect.

This does NOT mean we can stay in sin, rather IF we sin God’s grace will save us.

So if we have sexual temptations we do not need to become eunuchs (asexual), we are called to be sexual beings (as humans are) but chaste! And God’s grace will help us in that endeavour. And meanwhile in our failings we will be kept humble.

I too accept your apologies. 🙂 Know that there is no sin God cannot forgive, and forgiving ourselves comes when we realize we are weak, fallen creatures and prone to sin, so join the club. 😉

Daily weekday Mass is shorter, leaving out certain parts that are done in celebrating/participating in a Sunday/Holy Day of Obligation/Solemnity Mass.

Hi AG! 👋

First, I recommend that you invest in the following excellent book by Dr. Edward Sri. called A Biblical Walk Through the Mass which begins at the beginning of the Mass with the Sign of the Cross and then covers the entire Mass, showing where it directly ties into the Word of God. It’s one of the best books I’ve ever read and it will help you better get the hang of what’s going on and how to respond at Mass.

Second, keep in mind that we are all sinners. Some worse than others, but all hell bound before conversion. It is only by the unfathomable Divine Mercy that any of us have hope. We live and move and have our being because we do so loving God for His love and mercy to us all. Something that none of us deserve, yet amazingly 16] For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17] For God sent the Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. 18] He who believes in him is not condemned; he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. (See John chapter 3) This is why the Holy Spirit is calling you into His Church.

You may not realize it right now, just as St. Peter and the apostles didn’t, but again, remember what Our Lord told them.
“Do not be afraid; henceforth you will be catching men.” (See Luke 5:8 and its context.)

Again, welcome home. 🙂

Thank you all <3

Would love to stick around here and keep you all informed and updated on how i am progressing

Beautiful picture! It puts me in mind of the line from one of the Psalms recited for Morning Prayer:

Ps.57:8
Awake, my soul!
Awake, O harp and lyre!
I will awake the dawn!

I don’t envy you working in the heat. In our part of the world we are still in a heat wave. I’ve got the AC running day and night. :coolinoff: Have a great day! 😃
