Friends, the 30 seconds of video that was recorded at my consecration on the Assumption can be seen at www.DoIHaveAVocation.com/blog/ .

Another blogger wrote about the event at notesfromstillsong.blogspot.com/
That was a very moving ceremony and I enjoyed reading the write up. It sounds like you already have a wonderful vocation of service to the church and are to be admired for your committment.

I am not sure if this is appropriate and it is certainly not meant to be inappropriate BUT you make a beautiful bride. 🙂

I saw Ms Stegman (sp??) on the EWTN program last night and she was a very articulate spokesperson for the vocation of consecrated virgin within the church.

That was amazingly beautiful! I loved it!! Thank you so much for sharing it with us, and know that I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers!

Thank you! It was a most moving experience, one which I will never forget.

That’s lovely, SerraSemper - the clip, and the photographs too. Thank you for sharing it with us!

(I didn’t know about doihaveavocation.com, so thanks also for introducing me to the website.)

Another way this is a good witness among youth is that this women IS young, attractive, and educated. I think there is a stereotype among some people that those consecrating themselves either to this life or in a religious order were not likely to be dating anyway.

I would hope that they would get SerraSemper to speak to youth on Life of the Rock (EWTN). Maybe Ms Stegman can do a segment in the future with you. I think it would be an encouragement to many.

That is why it is also good to see young priests who have everything going for them who chose to follow the call of God on their lives. It witnesses in a powerful way to youth. A few year ago there was an interview with a college football player who had offers to make big bucks in the NFL but he turned them down because…he was going to enter seminary to be a PRIEST. Don’t know what happened to him but what a witness. He could have had all the world had to offer but gave it up.

I recall seeing a Christian segment on Christian TV (like a commercial). It has one guy (looked nerdy) sitting down on a bench with a large bible. An athletic guy jogs up next to him (looked trendy with headphones). The nerdy looking guy started reading a geneology from the bible aloud. Of course the other guy asks what he is reading. The nerdy guy says with an air of superiority and judgmentalism, “I am a Christian”. The jogger says, “Oh great, I am too”. The nerdy guy looks like he is about to fall off the bench. There is a point about assumptions and what it means to be a committed Christian.

Thanks for your witness SerraSemper. I am serious that it might be a good idea for you and other consecrated to go on EWTN and talk about your witness.
