During my absence I have remembered you in prayer and Mass.
I will be back home next Monday, and will have more computer access again.
I would like, though, to ask prayer for my Dad, who is beginning a series of 30 radium treatments in the hope of destroying the bone cancer that is causing him extreme pain. Chemo won’t follow for his main cancer, as at age 89 that is considered inadvisable by his doctor. In any case, Dad accepts that death is inevitable to us all. We, his loving children, do hope this wonderful man whom we all love dearly will not linger too long but will be as comfortable as possible. He is at present overwhelmed by all the love surrounding him, and that in his words,“I am surrounded by so many good people”. He is gracious, loving, and humble, and never realizes what an amazing person he is himself.
We know that God is putting the last touches on an extraordinary life, so please pray that God can do that without too much delay. He is thin, exhausted and has a lot to face, so please God we can be with Dad in every way that is encouraging, loving, and thoughtful, with the sensitivity and wisdom that he needs. Will you pray for that for my lovely Dad. And that he will find God’s loving support in every moment. I ask God’s Holy Spirit to be present and active, blessing every moment of the last weeks and months of his life with grace and peace. Dad’s name is Bernard.
Thank you very much
