Thanks everyone for your advice. I called my parents and talked to both of them today and feel a lot better about the situation. I think all is well now. Thanks again for your advice. I love this forum. God bless!!

I will add one thing:
If your dad feels lonely or unnecessary in your lives, you and mom need to work on that.
No man looks elsewhere if the home fires are strong

With all due respect, I think your analysis here is a little over the top. If OP herself has mental illness, as she disclosed here, it could be her dad is suffering from the same (as it can be genetic). We need to be careful not to play armchair psychologist here when the situation really is beyond the realm of anything we are able to diagnose. I think it is appropriate to suggest OP seek some mental health assessment for dad, if he is suddenly behaving in a manner different from his norm.
