I don’t think you have a very good understanding of the sacrament, friend.
You can play the hypothetical game all you want, but that doesn’t prove anything. It’s also possible that her father’s willingness to risk losing his wife, who he loves, so that his daughter may be baptized and raised in the Church would prove to her how important Catholicism is. Neither of us can predict the future. This is why we must always do the right thing and trust in God’s providence. In this case, that is taking a stand, baptizing his daughter, and establishing NOW that she will be raised in the Church.
I kind of see it this way also, to make it simple, who are you going to believe in the commands of God, or your wife.
Jesus died on the cross so we could have this Sacrament.
As much as I love my husband I will still not go against the commands of God to keep peace. There are times in this world when you are forced to make a choice.
We are called to put GOD first then our family and others.
I never saw Catholic teaching that stated put a human teaching over the teaching of the Divine.
St Peter never said repent and be baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, of course if your spouse agrees.
He was asked how do we have eternal life, That is when he said repent and ALL of you be baptized.
Personally I think I could live with my spouse even leaving me, and knowing my child was baptized into life with Christ, then to obey him, and have the threat of my Child not being baptized and knowing I rejected the teaching’s of Christ to obey my spouse.
There comes a time in life you have to pick truth. No matter who it upsets.
