Well, after putting my discernment on hold for a while, I have decided to contact another religious community that I’ve had my eye on for awhile to do a “Come and See.” They are strictly a nursing order (which is the only apostolate I feel called to) and I have heard nothing but good things about them. I spoke to the Vocation Director on the phone last night and I will probably be going there the end of August. I need to give advance notice at my job for time off needed, so please pray that everything is approved. I am also looking at plane ticket prices. I would appreciate your prayers! 👍

From today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Let us pray.
Lord Jesus Christ, you lay a gentle yoke upon those who follow you. Meek and humble, you give them a light burden to carry. Receive the work and the prayers we have offered to you today; and give us rest, to make us more eager to serve you, who live and reign for ever and ever, Amen.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.

Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Amen.

Thank you all for your prayers. I am very excited about going there in the next few months. 😃

I was almost a Religious myself, but God had other plans.
Also Praying Hard!

Thank you all. I appreciate your prayers. I am so excited about going to the Novitiate for a “Come and See” in the fall! 🙂

Praying from today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Psalm 112 (113)
Praise of the Lord’s name

When Pentecost day came round, they had all met in one room. Alleluia.

Praise, servants of the Lord,
praise the name of the Lord.
Let the Lord’s name be blessed,
now and for ever.
From the sun’s rising to its setting,
the Lord’s name is to be praised.

The Lord is high over all peoples,
his glory is above the heavens.
Who is like the Lord our God, who lives on high,
who bends down to watch over heaven and earth?

He raises the weak from the ground,
the poor from the dunghill,
raises them among the princes,
the princes of his people.

He gives the barren woman a household,
makes her the happy mother of children.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

When Pentecost day came round, they had all met in one room. Alleluia.

It brings me such joy to hear from you. I’m glad that you are going to a “Come and See” for a Religious nursing order.

Hmm, I don’t think we can take a break from what God needs of us…God is speaking to your heart of hearts.

Loving God,
Is it I, Lord?
Are you calling me to a vocation
of ministry in the Church as
Priest, Sister, Brother or Deacon?
Or if I am already living out a life’s
vocation, are you asking me to help
call others to the ministry of
leadership in the Church?
We do need men and women to help
lead us as Church, Lord. We are your
people of the valley, prairie and pines,
the Diocese of ______________
Speak to us Lord.
Open the minds and hearts of many
men and women to live your Word
and build your Kingdom.
Speak to me Lord.
Plant your Word within me so that
whatever you call me to be or do
I may say Yes, Here I Am Lord.

Lord here I am!

What would you like me to
do with my life?

(Pause to listen to God for a moment)

Teach me to do your
will, Lord.

And let your Holy Spirit
guide me!

Do not wait for old age to offer yourself to God. Offer Him the flower of your youth, which will be pleasing to Him and which He will accept with the greatest of love." - St. Catherine of Siena
