My father in law is 81 and has cancer throughout his body for which he has refused treatment. His beloved wife died 12 years ago and he has finally quit insisting she must come back to him. A few months ago, during a medical crisis he said he was afraid to die because he wasn’t sure he would go to heaven and wouldn’t be with his wife; I asked the priest to visit him. They became good friends but Grandpa just changes the subject whenever anything spiritual comes up. The priest told me all he wants to talk about is his wife. It is as though he has made her his god. He says he is now ready to die but will not make a confession. He takes communion and prays the rosary, he always attended Mass when able.

I ask you to please pray for this man, that he will accept God’s forgiveness for his sins before he dies and that he will offer his own suffering for the members of his family who no longer attend Mass.

Thank you. I know first hand the power of the prayers offered by this forum’s members!

**God of power and mercy,
you have made death itself
the gateway to eternal life,
Look with love on this dying man,
and make him one with your Son in his suffering and death,
that, sealed with the blood of Christ,
he may come before you free from sin.

Lord have Mercy, Christ have Mercy.
AMEN**

Praying…Eternal God, I offer you the body and blood, soul and Divinity of your dearly beloved son, our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Praying for your father-in-law and all of you at this time.

Thank you so much, I knew I could count on our forum family.

Pyropam, thank you, I will keep praying that, along with the Divine Mercy daily. Maggieoday, thanks for reminding me of the promises of the Divine Mercy. I am also relying on the intercession of St. Joseph to accomplish this, honestly I don’t know how we can possibly fail with such powerful tools!
Thank you, Lord, for good friends.
Love you all and am praying for the intentions of the forum members!

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Please say the following prayer right now to release 1,000 souls from purgatory (Approval and Recommendation signed by M. Cardinal Pahiarca, Lisbon, Portugal March 4, 1936.): Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy Souls in Purgatory. Amen

God of power and mercy, you have made death itself the gateway to eternal life. Look with love on our dying brother, and make him one with Your Son in His suffering and death, that, sealed with the blood of Christ, he may come before you free from sin. Amen.

What a devoted and loving husband your father in law seems to be…he is safe I am sure in the Merciful and Understanding Heart of Jesus. I will be keeping your father in law in daily prayer at this very difficult time for him and asking St. Joseph to intercede for a happy death for him…sometimes we cannot know what is going on in a person’s heart…may The Lord strengthen you all at this difficult time and keeping the family in prayer too…

I have placed your petitions within my heart and will carry them with me to Mass and I will remember your petitions in my daily prayers.
