Prayers for your parents and you that God’s grace sustain you all during this stressful time. Continued prayers for the restoration of health and wellness of your father.
-NOVENA TO SAINT RAPHAEL THE ARCHANGEL (FOR HEALING) Blessed Raphael, archangel and friend, God the Father called you to be a force for healing in the world, touching wounded hearts, bodies, and minds with the might of the Holy Spirit. Dear Raphael, help us to put aside our limited, worldly habit of judging and condemning ourselves and others when we do wrong, and to replace it with Christ’s perspective of healing the wounds we all incur in living as imperfect beings in an imperfect world. In that spirit I ask now that you use your swift and silent wings to bring to God this request: healing of his eye problem that requires surgery to fix. Guide us always to the people through whom God is waiting to make us whole, and help us to be sources of loving healing to them. We pray this in the name of Christ our Lord. Amen.

God, Our Father, we pray this day that you send your Holy Spirit to guide surgeons, physicians, nurses, tech, therapists, aides, and all those charged with his care. Please shower your healing power on our brother; may he have a speedy and complete recovery. We ask this though Christ Our Lord, Amen.

Okay, after a lot of back and forth over the phone yesterday, it looks like my dad is still having that surgery at 5 today. What’s really bad is he can’t drive or go to work for 8 weeks afterwards. So, finances will be tight and he will be incredibly bored.

So, my dad’s surgery was canceled yet again. The doctor who initially recommended that surgeon is now trying to fix it himself.

So, my dad went to the doctor today and he said, if his eye does not heal up in 4 weeks, he’ll need the surgery. My dad is almost certainly going to be let go from his job over this and, at age 75, no one is going to hire him. He was our main breadwinner. Please pray for a miracle.
