My Favorite Prayer

**Glory to God in the Highest
And peace to His people on earth
Lord God, Heavenly King, Almighty God of the Father,
We worship you, we give you thanks, we praise you for your Glory
Lord, Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father,
Lord God, Lamb of God
You take away the sins of the world
Have mercy on us
For you are seated at the right hand of the Father,
Receive my prayer
For you alone are the Holy One, You alone are the Lord,
You alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Glory of God the Father
Amen.

**I find myself saying this prayer an awful lot to give Glory to God. This one is particularly my favorite. The Apostle’s Creed and the Our Father follow. I also love the Confessor. What are the prayers of non-Catholics?
 
One of my favorites (yes, I’m catholic, but this prayer is orthodox) is the Jesus Prayer:
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.
I ❤️ orthodox! almost as much as catholics;)

Not too long ago…a priest in the Sacrament of Reconciliation…for my penance…gave me the ***Gloria ***to pray/say/meditate on in the Adoration chapel for 5 minutes…then spend 5 minutes telling the Lord my thoughts on the prayer…and then 5 minutes listening for Lord’s words to me (inspirations of the Holy Spirit). (this priest is an old Marine buddy–who is now a Navy priest-chaplain…who really knows what a spiritual “mess” I usually am in and all my struggles/failures).

Since then I can’t (and don’t want to) get the Gloria out of my mind/off my lips…I know its the Holy Spirit’s grace…but it is simply amazing what just a little time in front of Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament and being open to His graces…can actually help you to see and to strengthen your resolve/effort to be more virtuous.

To prayer share…I would say that my personal favorite prayer is the one that the Angel of Portugal led the Fatima Seers in…before the Blessed Mother first appeared to them…the Angel appeared a total of three times and (I believe) on the third appearance…he appeared with a Sacred Host in one hand held over a Cup of the Precious Blood…the Sacred Host was dripping Sacred Blood into the Cup…the Angel let go of the Host and Cup and they remained suspended in air…then he invited the children to pray with him…the Angel fell prostrate on the ground and prayed:
O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most Precious Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in Tabernacles throughout the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges, and indifferences by which He is offended. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in union with the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg the conversion of poor sinners.

I always add…especially the soul of this poor sinner … as I end the prayer.

I have a prayer that i love:
O Lord, help me to realize that nothing will happen to me today that You and I cannot work out together.

**I confess to Almighty God
And to you my brothers and sisters
That I have sinned
In my thoughts and in my words
In what I have done
And what I failed to do
And I ask Blessed Mary ever Virgin
All the Angels and Saints
And to you my brothers and sisters
To pray for me to the Lord our God.

**I hope that non-Catholics here love these prayers and would consider saying them.

The prayer choices thus far have been excellent!

They are not only moving in their own right, but correct expositions of aspects of the Faith.
