Sorry, I just can’t resist… I found this on youtube and it’s like… like taking a deep breath of fresh clean air after being under water for too long. I want to share it with others who might also appreciate its beauty.

If only we heard music like this at Mass more often.

It’s a beautiful work. I remember hearing it in Protestant churches growing up. I think ?? that my Baptist church did it once. (We had a great music minister while I was a teenager.)

Not very daring of me, but I still like Handel’s Messiah. I wish that parishes would do the Passion portion of the Messiah at this time of year.

I am grateful in that I do get to hear (and sing) such music at Mass.

We sang (in concert with Baroque orchestra) Vivaldi’s Gloria and Bach’s Magnificat.
I don’t think I’ll forget the longest day I live.

Ask your music director to play Holy God We Praise Thy Name. My parish raises the roof with that old one but good one.
