Someone got me a Classics Illustrated version of Matthew when I was 8 or 9. I really liked it, especially since I never went to church and was intensely curious. I’d read it over and over…my favorite story is still where Peter denied he knew Christ and the cock crew. I was called from that time though it took me a few decades to follow through.

Anyone else ever see this version? Is it still available?

I also would be most interested in this. I have two sons who are not real big on reading. Maybe a comic book (NOT Jack Chick  ) would help my boys with scripture readings.

I grew up Protestant and I remember receiving a protestant prayer book at my public school  . I still have it some 20 years later! 😃 But sorry, have never seen the comic book version.

My son’s Godmother gave him a bible that was all pictures. He spent hours looking at it until it fell apart. I tried to replace it but never found it again.

The comic book version is still available from Amazon:

The Picture Bible

…my kids enjoyed it too!

Jennifer 🙂
Many thanks for this link! I’ve been looking for something like this for some time. And after the terrific review at Amazon who could resist?
