My First Daily Mass

I just wanted to post this (hopefully its in the right spot!).

I was recieved into full communion with the Catholic Church at this year’s Easter Vigil. I decided to attend my first daily mass today and I thought it was wonderful!!! There were only about 30 people or so there and it was so peaceful and quiet and it truly felt like home (actually a little more than Sunday Mass did:o ). I just wanted to express how wonderful I’m feeling right now since coming back from it. It only lasted about 35 min but it was one of the best 35 min of my life. I hope that if the ones of you who were recieved into the Church this Easter (or everyone for that matter) get a chance to go to a daily Mass somewhere because to me it was truly a different and wonderful experience!!

Just wanted to share that with you all!🙂
 
What a great post! I go every Sunday to Mass but haven’t contracted the habit of daily Mass, although I know it would be a huge help to me.

First of all…CONGRATULATIONS !!! and welcome home !!!

I love daily Mass. For the past 3 1/2 years, my work location afforded me the blessing of being able to attend daily Mass everyday. My parish offers 3 daily Masses and I attended the 5:30 pm Mass after work. It was a peaceful way to close the work day…especially if it had been a trying day, but even just to thank the Lord for His blessings of the day, and to receive the Eucharist made for such a restful evening and night.

Unfortunately, my new job is located too far from my parish to make the evening daily Mass and I truly miss it. I have found a parish close by that has a 12:15 pm Mass twice a week, so I will probably take advantage of that…somehow it strengthens me and helps me to live a holier life.

Anyway…I hope you continue to enjoy the daily Masses and once again…welcome home.

I’m glad I was able to do a bit of good!🙂

I went to our parish’s noon mass today. There is mass every moring (almost) at 7 am and I haven’t been really wanting to get up for it but I’ve definitely changed my mind about it. :yup: I’m definitely going to go everyday that I can now!! So I’ll be going on Sunday, Monday & Wednesday-Saturday if I can make it to them.👍 I wish I could go on Tuesdays but it doesn’t begin until 8:10 and I have to be at work at 8:30.😦

I understand your feelings about daily mass. Although my work schedule does not allow me to go very often, I do love it when I get the chance to go. There is something very personal about the whole experience when you are just one of a handful of people there. It just feel intimate, if you know what I mean.

I found a Church near my work that allows me to go daily mass before heading in, it’s awesome. I know exactly what you mean 🙂 .
 
Somehow despite how busy we all seem…if you start attending daily mass, your day goes so much better. And God provides the time for you attend.

I have been able to attend nearly 3 years now and I wouldn’t miss it. In fact, when I do I feel like I missing something very much.

Welcome Home…to all our newly baptized as well as our new Catholics! You have a big family over 1 billion strong!
 
Congratulations on your first weekday mass! Daily mass has been one of the biggest blessings in my life. All struggles, concerns, and stresses leave me when I am at daily mass. It is wonderful to hear that you are also excited about Jesus! When we think about it, where would we rather be than in the company of our Lord?

If you haven’t tried out Eucharistic Adoration yet, you will love that as well.
 
I started going to daily MASS during Lent. I only missed one week because I was in the Dominican Republic on an awareness trip.

I found it made me anticipate the Easter Vigil even more… and I really did miss going to MASS during that one week when I was away.

I have had so much joy inside of me since the Easter Vigil, and I find that attending daily MASS helps me to keep that joy with me every day. Today I asked Jesus to bind me so tightly in union with HIM today, that many conversions might be brought about by the joy of faith to which I wish to give witness.

I have discovered that if I go to Adoration one day, and not on another, the day that I went is always a happier day - even if more bad things seem to happen on that day, I have more joy to get me through.

Now that I am able to recieve communion, I discovered already this week that my day is a lot better when it starts with communion, but that I am happy if I can at least recieve communion in the evening, and that I am still happy at Adoration but that I find myself praying more about when the next MASS will be and getting there than anything else.

(keeping in the mind that the last time I went to Adoration was on Monday, when the only MASS in the city was at 8:15 and I started work at 7:00, and I was so dissappointed to realize that my new shift that I had prayed for and longed for was making it impossible to get to MASS for that one day)

I don’t understand why everyone doesn’t always go to daily MASS. I know when I go up to recieve communion, I am recieving Jesus, my God, who will be present with me all day long. Knowing this, how can anyone not want to recieve Jesus every day and as often as they are allowed?

Even yesterday, when the only evening MASS in the city was in Polish (I didn’t understand a word, except for when the priest said “the body of Christ” - still Polish - and I knew enough to say Amen and believe) - I still felt so much joy just to be there, and to recieve my Lord.

I have some questions and thoughts, though, that would be better posted seperate from this. so I should go and do that before I forget.

Daily mass is great.Its much more intimate and quiet. People are reverant. People truely desire to be there. They go out of there way to go. It’s free will. They love God and His Church.

I go when I can during the week. I joined the RCC four years ago and began to to daily mass two years ago.

I also go to the daily 9am mass on Sat.in my home parish and have for two years. A month ago some of the older guys invited me to breakfast with them after mass. This is something that has never happened at a Sunday mass.

Lily the attitude is different. The love is there.

Lastly, Angel Rose 35 minutes might be considered a long weekday mass. Sometimes they maybe 15 to 20 minutes.
 
I love Daily mass and wish i could go more often. There is just something about stripping back everything and being at mass. I love going when there is no music except the people’s voices. Reminds me that a church is the people and not the building!
 
I started going to the 8AM daily Mass where the school schildren attend and I have loved everyday of it. This winter I felt really sad on the days when the weather was so bad that I was not able to attend. Thankfully that was only a couple of days. Like someone said, daily Mass makes the rest of the day go better. I have come to know some of the other regulars and it is just a great experience.

I prefer the peacefulness of Daily Mass.

I’ve never been much on organ music and find it quite distracting so I actually find that unnerving at Sunday mass. I can’t pray when organ is playing because it is so loud I can’t center my mind to pray. And I’m such a bad singer I can’t join in the song because it is usually being sung 10 octaves too high.

There used to be a 5:30 pm mass in our area and it was actually very well attended, better attended than the morning and midday masses. But it got to be too much of a drain on the parish priest so it was discontinued. It was such a shame. I miss the end of the day mass.

Daily mass is great!! More people should attend. We are so lucky to have the opportunity to celebrate the Eucharist everyday. If you can find an hour to watch tv, or exercise or devote to your favorite hobby, then wouldn’t it be nice if you could take an hour and give it to God? (Now I say that knowing I don’t always do, either)

Everyone’s always complaining Catholics don’t know the Bible and all that…but I bet if you ask Catholics who go to Mass everyday about the bible, they probably could match a Protestant any day of the week.
 
I love daily Mass. It’s so quiet and peaceful. I wish I could go every day, but work intrudes. I do go on my vaction days and maybe someday I can go every day. I do love it so.
 
I went to the 7 am Mass this morning and it was wonderfull too. Some of the Sisters were there and one of them led the songs (with no music) and it was so beautiful. There was no homily but it didn’t matter, I still truly enjoyed being there and felt right at home!👍
 
Congratulations! I love daily Mass too - unfortunately, the Mass at my parish is at 8:30 am, and I need to be on my way to work before then. So I go whenever I can. The peacefulness, prayerfulness and reverence are wonderful. My parish is starting to have a Saturday morning Mass at 8:30 am, so at least I can get to that each week. I think I’ll try to find a parish near my office that may have a Mass around lunchtime.
 
I signed up to serve for daily mass today… they said they only have two servers and both are over 60years old… so I should be an asset!

Daily Mass is a well kept secret! I started going a couple of years ago during Lent, and I couldn’t stop when Lent was over. My parish offers a 6:30 a.m. Mass on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, and my work is about 5 minutes down the road. I have to be there at 7:05, so it works perfectly.

The time between Mondays and Thursdays seemed so long some weeks. It is the best 20 or 25 minutes that I spend all day. Hands down. And even during holidays and summer vacations, I do my best to attend regularly.

We are so fortunate to have access to Mass on a daily basis!

I got up for Mass this past Monday morning, but when I got to church it was DARK! I’d neglected to pick up a bulletin after the Easter Vigil, but I suspect our pastor was taking a couple of days of well-deserved rest. I was sad not to be able to attend Mass and receive Our Lord, though.

I don’t think I could match Bible quoting with a protestant, but I HAVE learned a good bit the past few years. Sometimes we get a brief lesson about the life and times represented in the Bible readings - the rest of the story, so to speak, and sometimes we hear a bit about various Saints on their Feast days.
 
I am a new Catholic also. Once I started RCIA, I started attending Mass ‘most’ everyday our parish had one, and that’s 5 days out of 7. I always wondered why no other RCIA candidates attended (if they could), as I found I got more out of daily homilies than I ever learned at RCIA. To be honest, I didn’t get much out of RCIA but I never missed a session if I could avoid it.

But don’t stop at Mass, also attend Adoration at least a hour a week, and attend confession at least every two weeks. It’s great being Catholic so make the most of it. I am.
