Welcome back! Try giving the local parish a chance, but if that doesn’t work out it is OK to shop around until you find your church home.

There have been minor changes over the last ten years. For instance, We now stand when the priest says "Pray, brethren (brothers and sisters) that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God the almighty Father.

They may be minor but they would through those who have not seen them before I believe. In fact what I saw the OP, I thought about all those changes.
I forgot to add
It is o.k. to go to what ever Church you want to. I go to four different Church’s. They are all wonderful. I get different things from different parishes. I believe that if you find a parish that fits your spiritual needs. It won’t be ten years before you attend again. God Bless You

Welcome back, I am sure it’s great to be back. You are blessed to be able to chose which parish to go to. I have the same delight of a few parishes near me, they vary in style greatly. I think try a couple of masses at each before choosing as it’s often a bit emotional going back and it can take a while to settle in too and also to see which parish you feel at home in as well as the mass suits. God bless you.

This morning I attended Mass for the first time in roughly 10 years. It was of course a great experience to be back and recieve communion.

However, it was nothing like I remember. It was not in any way inappropriate and I do not mean to speak poorly ot the parish, but it did seem to be somewhat less reverent in my opinion.

Would this possibly be, “the new mass”? I would like to find a parish near me that has a more traditional, serious feel to it. Is it wrong to “shop around” until you find a parish where you truly feel at home?
Welcome back! We’re glad to have you.

There have not been any material changes to the Novus Ordo Mass (the standard liturgy of the Roman Rite) in the past ten years. There were some changes made in the translation a few years ago, to make the English translation more faithful to the Latin.

Have you considered the Traditional Latin Mass? You will definitely find reverence there.

And the same priest, on a given day, may be distracted, troubled by something, “having a bad day” and appear less reverent than another day when he is not distracted, not troubled… you get the idea.
I get this totally. As many around here know I am pretty dedicated to praying, chanting in fact, the Liturgy of the Hours. When I’m not distracted, and firing on all cylinders, it would appear to be done, in my little oratory, with care and reverence. On other days, I’ll stumble over familiar and easy psalms and psalm tones, and be totally distracted or have something is on my mind, and an outside observer would think I just didn’t care about what I was doing.

On the other hand I’ve also had the opposite happen: approaching the Hour with dread because I’m distracted or feeling down in the dumps or whatever, and the hour comes off beautifully and be a grace-filled moment, and I get lifted out of the doldrums by it.

The only solution is to persevere by regular and punctual.

We often forget that priests are human. I saw a priest arrive late for Mass, with tears in his eyes, apologizing and saying he was late because he had to baptize an infant that died a few moments later.

Even at our abbey where the liturgy is uniformly beautiful I’ve seen the presider obviously distracted, stumbling on his words several times during the Mass. It happens!
